Seems I got some links mixed up. For watching Youtube, these should be the
two links:

http://www.gluglug.org.uk/tutorials/accessing-youtube/
https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/play-videos-without-using-flash

About my battery: it lasts 3 hours with wifi on and charges up in two.

If you check here http://www.coreboot.org/Board:lenovo/x60/Installation
the coreboot is compatible even with the T60 and the screen in that laptop is
14 or more.

Re: [Trisquel-users] Need help with GPG/Enigmail/Torbirdy

2014-01-06 Thread gnuser
Well, all doubts have been solved finally. After taking advice from quiliro
and jxself, I have done some tests with GPG (everything works fine in command
line and no errors happen, unlike with the GUIs I mentioned, and I see no
internet connection happening whatsoever) and I asked around in Tor IRC.

Here is a simple view of things for people with some similar doubts:

Torbirdy changes settings in Thunderbird to force it to use the appropriate
proxy and the appropriate privacy settings. These are enforced in each boot
of Thunderbird, so even if you mess with something you can restart and
everything will be safe again. There is a leak of the actual time you sent
the email (the person who receives it can see, presumably the email service
provider as well) but not of the time zone (Torbirdy forces Thunderbird time
zone to UTC). So, the receiver can see what time was it that you sent the
email, they are working on a patch for it.
As for using Enigmail, it is safe. It works correctly, you can encrypt and
import keys and such, the only issue is that if the Engimail plugin tries
to connect to the internet key server without using proxy settings, Torbirdy
will deny it. That's what safe close means. In other words, there is no
chance of revealing your identity through there. You might find some problems
in using a key server, but again, Torbirdy uses a tor hidden service as key
server, to make it safer.
So, all in all, I believe this thread might be useful for other people (even
because different aspects of GPG and email were discussed here), and I hope
the explanation I provide here is also clear enough.

I thank everyone who tried to help. The thread is now ended.

The Trisquel iso of Toutatis won't work as it's based on Ubuntu and Ubuntu
has changed to PAEd kernel.

You can easily get to work this way (not a solution exactly):

Download a previous Trisquel version. It will work.

When Trisquel's menu appears. Press F6 and cross (select) nomodeset, press
Esc and enter.

ps: you must select your keyboard and langauge before.

Re: [Trisquel-users] how do I rename pages on the documentaion?

I've edited the page: https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/website-translations
When I checked the Spanish version I got a surprised, the Spanish version was
an exact copy of the English one. So I edited it but the Spanish name of the
page and title are still in English and I can't change it.

Re: [Trisquel-users] How to fix MBR problem caused by Trisquel Installation?

2014-01-06 Thread antiesnob

Please, we are needed of some information.

a) Which version of Windows?
b) Specify unstable.
c) There's no relation between your WiFi and an deleted/not-in-use Operating
System. Specify a little more about your disconnection problem. It can be a
Windows problem or a hardware problem of your computer or the one that gives
you WiFi.

Also, you can try Trisquel using the Live-CD which does not alters your
system in any way.
I think there's an option not to install Grub in the MBR and, ven though,
dual booting.

One of the links related to ThinkPenguin is for you to buy a WiFI Adapter
that will work on Trisquel.

https://www.thinkpenguin.com/

While you cannot conect to the Internet thru Trisquel with that Wireless
adapter you can still install Trisquel and use it and qhen you need to get
into Internet use the way you're connecting now till there developed drivers
for your card or you buy another WiFI adapter to work with Trisquel.

Wondering if coreboot removes the digital restrictions on PCIe cards?

I have an Atheros wifi card that doesn't work with the standard BIOS, even
though it is a Lenovo card. Maybe it will work with coreboot? I have an X60s
without coreboot at the moment.

Download Trisquel 6.0.1 instead. It should work without PAE.
