To load the required modules:
sudo modprobe applesmc coretemp
To keep the modules permanently enabled across reboots, add them to
/etc/modules (applesmc and coretemp should each be added in a new line)
did anybody here try sflphone?
http://sflphone.org/
I did an aptitude search but I see only
sflphone-daemon
sflphone-data
sflphone-evolution
sflphone-gnome
sflphone-kde
and no sflphone-gnome-video that is the gnome client with video support while
sflphone-gnome is audio only..

Hi I've just started using Trisquel. I really like the look of it, and have
it installed on our PC downstairs. I've created another couple of users for
other people in the family. I'd like to have some files which are shared
between us all, and then some of the files will by for certain
Ugh, its much easier to use a PPA than having to re-compile with every
update. I wonder how this will affect FFMPEG in the future as Ubuntu has gone
back to FFMPEG after using LibAV for a while.
Hi,
what about to get a laptop that have intel HD and Nvidia GT 840M ?
It can run well using only free as in freedom software?
I don't need 3d or advanced Graphical stuff.
The nvidia card will be used only if enabled or when doing some intensive
task?
It will give me problem if I use
I'm not after the kernelless thing, it just so happens that debootstrap works
that way.
What I am after, though, is being able to preform the installation from a
GNU/Linux installation on the same HDD, and then chrooting to the newly
installed system and customise things fromm there.
Hello and welcome bzdroid.
The file access control enforces who can access which archives. Take a look
at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_system_permissions. To share files,
what you need to do is to make sure that the users corresponding to your
other family members have permission

Honestly, for a shared file space, I think it's simpler to just have a FAT32
or NTFS partition than deal with Unix file permission settings.
It's a *lot* of work, with little benefit, so not unless someone is willing
to pay me. If you would like this feature, write back and we can discuss
pricing.
Wow, that's amazing.
I probably still have one from when Dad and I were trying to set up Ekiga,

I haven't opened Pidgin in years because there hasn't been anyone I wanted to

Yea, me too. At least I don't feel so alone. This is what I had on auto

I am hoping someone could assist me regarding controlling the fans on my 2008

control then restarting the mac and booting into Trisquel. Ideally I would
like to remove the apple partition and just use
I'm not sure if such a thing is possible with LibertyBSD. I doubt you'd be
able to do a kernel-less installation, but I'm guessing that you might be
able to do an installation into a new partition from another operating
system. The OpenBSD base system does not contain packages; if you want

Just test to see if Vino works in a terminal, and if you have a

useful to also take note of such option (well, this is needed

Apparently, the command is vino-preferences (found this out by doing a search

This seems to work.

The repository above contains the non-free FDK AAC (the new FAAC!) library,
which is installed alongside FFmpeg/VLC, and cannot be removed due to the
fact that it was manually enabled during compilation. Also, the maintainer
obviously doesn't care too much about free software.

Thank you, I wasn't aware about this. I've read somewhere that it's not free
software (probably in some old forum post), and have taken it as a fact. This
is a very good news for me (despite its age) 'cause this removes an obstacle
by providing a both free/libre repository hosting.
This is unfortunately not something I can help you with. You should try and
ask the Jitsi developers about this.

Nope, just don't forget to add the acpi_osi= parameter to GRUB either with
sudo dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc or by manually editing the /etc/default/grub
file, which prevents the use of both GPUs at the same time (and should save
you battery power). You will be then able to switch the default
