some of these manufacturers make single board computers customizable on demand, but require a minimum of cards to do so. I think they can do completely 100% free. order a quantity that justifies the production seems to be the challenge. but perhaps creating a list of interested and see if

Hello, I'm having a slight problem with my installation of Trisquel 7 where I can't access Network Manager. I'm trying to set up a VPN, which I've been able to do successfully in the past, but for some reason I get an error message now, see attached image. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Try getting the .7z Plug in and play version from here: http://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v6.7.5.html In theory you should be able to simply extract the archive and run the .exe file using Wine :)

i can run it in wine but i want to beable to compile it as if you can only compile it on a non-free os(windows) its not free software i would need to compile n++ on a libre os like mikeos, libertybsd or gnu/linux

Thank You, I appreciate that. I still think the whitelisting approach is the best one. Also having a simple method of controlling traffic is great for someone like me who is struggling to understand, or learn iptables. I'll watch the git, and see if the project is getting regular updates.

Oh, and I should have said - they tell you up front it's built on the Gigabyte Gigabyte GA-B85M-DS3H motherboard. So if you can build your own from components sourced locally if like me you aren't worried about coreboot compatibility.

Yes, blocking all by default and accepting each one request is safer... but I am not sure if it will be simpler. Anyway, that would avoid some stupid mistakes like running Tor and opening links in regular browser :P

Maybe you can use an old netbook as a thin client SOC. It will spend a bit more electricity but if you remove all the casing and maybe look into not turning on the wifi and the screen you might lower the energy consumption To check freedom compatiblity use h-node:
