Hmm that's a little disappointing. If I can get my hands on a cheap one I'll
probably still muck around just for the learning experience. The webcam isn't
important for my uses anyway, I haven't had a laptop with a webcam for over a
decade.
The battery didn't used to be important to me,
Some more comments:
I have had similar problems with the x60s battery as described above, i.e.
sometimes it would not seem to charge when the laptop stays on. This was
always resolved by turning the laptop off, taking the battery off for a few
minutes, putting it back in and letting it
6+ hrs on your Libreboot X60s that is amazing.
I've had some battery issues with mine of late. On two occasions recently
(and currently), my battery no longer charges. I need the mains power to
switch the machine on even if I leave it off for a few hours to charge. The
last occasion this

I just read that the next version of Ubuntu (15.10) and future versions will
move away from the .deb format in favor of their home grown Snappy container
format. I don't know how this will affect Trisquel and if
I have always been in favor of switching Trisquel to Debian-based. And
something tells me that this Snappy will keep getting delayed and never
happen, like Mir.
I'm currently running Trisquel 7 on a Librebooted Lenovo X60.
The laptop has no cards inside(no mini pci wifi/no modem card...but i left
the cables anyway)and no speaker connected.
After a fresh Install i've setup powertop following this:

Hola, Ayer recientemente instale Trisquel Mini Gnu/Linux 7.0 :D El nuevo lo
boote en un CD/DVD Y lo instale Hasta Aqui todo Bien, pero nose que hacer con
mi navegador midori se cierra cuando veo vídeos de YouTube,y aveces se traba

You're right, it's just the US mirrors. It seems there are a lot of problems
with the Trisquel mirrors. Maybe I should add the regular
archive.trisquel.info to my sources.list.
Hola Alguien Que Hable Español?
i'm listening through the headphone jack
That's a great idea actually! The more info available on h-node the better!
It reminded me a lot the Apple commercials. I don't know the impact the new
package system will have but if it is free software and it is good, the it
should be welcome. If the change happen, Trisquel developers must make
changes to the helpers in order to modify the new packages.
I have backport repositories enabled but still not get the 1.12 version. Even
in the terminal with apt-get update and apt-get upgrade does it not appear in
the software center.
Scratching my head on this one...wondering why it seems this forum is getting
so many strange posts and requests as of late!
Or am I the only one that finds it strange.
I agree, it's getting pretty annoying now. I thought the US mirror would be
reliable since it's run by the FSF.
Anyway, this is what I have in my sources.list now. I have both the US mirror
and the main repo, the US mirror since it's closest to me and the main repo
since it's reliable.
Because it is in another package, try:
$ aptitude search wesnoth
you should see wesnoth-1.12 listed in there
What's so stange about my request? Since I'm a free software user, I don't
think my question is completely unrelated. I've seen stranger things like
sharing cat photos and alike.
This is really very annoying! In the last couple of months I had to change
the repositories several times.
First, I used the Spanish repos until they started to make problems. After
that I started to use the French repos until they stopped to work, which
forced me to switch to the US repos.
On the issue of 2D/3D, I was wondering if Unity and Compiz would behave
normally.
Also, knowing whether HD videos are played well would be nice too. I have
used an old Macbook 2,1 with OS X and loading flash videos on YouTube was a
*very* laggy experience. Gnash and HTML5 may relieve that
Didn't try that, I'll have to see when I get home tonight. Thanks for the
suggestion!
Yeah welcome! I think you'll find Trisquel a pretty great distro as a freedom
lover.
There is not too much documentation available but most ubuntu guides will
work, just be careful if they suggest you install something outside of the
repos. (Also the quality of many ubuntu guides ...
Hello willcoderwang!

this one is apparently very reliable and it has 8TB of storage and $260
http://www.storagereview.com/seagate_archive_hdd_review_8tb
so i guess you could get two of these or more if you have the money
8TB isn’t bad
i think you will have a hard time finding affordable cloud storage that gives
I have a macbook 2.1 with libreboot from 2015-02-08 installed. These are some
remarks that I have with using libreboot on it:
- The webcam does not work without a non-free firmware blob.
- The battery lasts only a couple of hours compared to the 6+ hours I get
from a libreboot x60s bought
Fantastic! Thank you so much for your reply.
Just to be sure, what kernel version are you running on your Macbook?
Also, is hardware acceleration good for 2D and 3D?
Same problem here with Trisquel 7 and US repositories.
Thanks for the tip. I'm still in the phase when I'm just toying with various
cloud storage providers and trying to find a reliable way to do this for
free. However, if I have to pay for the storage, I'll rather buy the hardware
by myself than paying a monthly rental fee, that's for sure.
Funny you should ask. Same situation here for Trisquel 7.
These reports would be much more useful if they contained information about
*Trisquel version
*the repositories used
I'm on Tris 6 using the Dutch mirrors and the last updates came today.
Here's a link with more info and answered questions:

(the Mini part of the term doesn't really mean anything) I think so, since
there's a service available to install Libreboot on the X60 tablet.

I think the website is using a different currency, Mexican Pesos (MXN),
rather than US Dollars (USD), both of which happen to share the same dollar
sign ($). At a $14.5MXN $1 USD, that is actually about $162USD.
I made a stylesheet for YouTube that automatically expands the description
box under the video for you so you don't have to do it manually every time by
editing the page.
To use it, first install Stylish.
