me and now I'm using advanced startup in the windows settings to restart my
computer from a device or disc. I'm having trouble booting from the USB

The Lenovo BIOS doesn't allow to replace the wi-fi card for an Atheros mini
pcie card. You could eventually use a modded BIOS that allow to use it but I
wouldn't do that. Other option is to install coreboot / libreboot, a fully
free BIOS that will allow you to use your atheros mini pcie wifi
