Re: [Trisquel-users] New Trisquel 8 alpha images
Wow! I'm now seeing new iso just updated on 19th June i.e 3 days ago! How far is it from release?
[Trisquel-users] Re : Technoethical T400s now available
Exactly. And Leah even apologized to Tiberiu in this thread (the opposite would have been far more normal). And Tiberiu did not accept her apology + basically call her a lier + childish + ... : https://trisquel.info/forum/technoethical-t400s-now-available?page=1#comment-116281 "Abhorrent" is the proper adjective to describe that post, and many other posts Tiberiu wrote in this thread. As for Chris and Ian Murdock, I did not even know they were in contact. Were they?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Technoethical T400s now available
Agreed. That's my last post on this thread, no matter the answers. I said what I had to say.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Technoethical T400s now available
Please stop this madness.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Technoethical T400s now available
So when you criticize your competitors and compete with them aggressively, it's OK ; but it's not OK when they do it to you? Is that what you're saying? Also, sorry, you have zero excuse for that huge downvoting thing. And even coming from a supposed biased person, some of the criticism can hold some truth. Just calling "biased" is only throwing the baby with the bathwater. I think you T400s is still a good offer. Leah has something nearly as good, and much cheaper right now. That's the way it is, it's up to you stay competitive. If we enact some form of protectionism (if even possible), it has to go both ways. I disliked the way she hijacked your thread, but you did similar stuff in the past (hence the double-standard). BTW to clarify, my earlier comment was a joke, meaning "drop the egos", everyone. I also mentioned that aggressive posting is annoying on the forum, whether it's you or Leah. I'd adblock you guys if I could. (well, I'd adblock myself for that kfsn4-dre thread, but I don't sell anything :P). Last, what matters to us users isn't to stick with one or another company. All of you contribute to better , more free hardware. You guys naturally care about cash (and about freedom). Personally I feel many of the products are overpriced (I remember a GPU on Thinkpenguin costing way more that I could find by myself around the web). But if it's reasonable, I'm OK with it since it helps developing better stuff.

"The only exception to this rule to release everything in advance is the PCB CAD files for the Computer Card. We’re planning to release the PCB CAD files for the Computer card once sufficient units are hit" If you cannot document, that no number of sold pc cards will result in lkcl making the pcb files public, then because of the reservation, you cannot say the website is misleading. You know, that maybe the pc card will not turn libre hardware.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Topic locked, huh? Follow up to making Coreboot work with full disk encryption on ASUS KFSN4-DRE
Using microcodes (SeaBIOS only since GRUB is useless in this case), SeaBIOS (and the LiveCD menu, at last), appear only on VGA, and to see the verbosity when starting a live session, I must switch to DVI. No problem for daily use: I'll just stay on DVI until it boots. Now, will the LiveCD doesn't boot. It takes several minutes, and it's still working on it. I'm stuck in a loop about "systemd-udevd timeout". But more often than not I have that underscore blinking on the upper left.

>Leah's behavior toward Richard and Christopher's toward Ian, who made their businesses possible in the first place, was abhorrent Leah apologized for her behavior and also explained the reasons (not that the reasons justify the behavior but it's something) why she acted like that. Why are you insisting on this point? I

Try https://hidester.com/dns-leak-test/ "Use your VPN, and run the Hidester DNS leak test to see if your real IP address is still being displayed."
[Trisquel-users] DNS leaks
I was setting up a VPN today and the VPN provider noted that "At this point, there is a known issue with DNS Leaks on distributions up to Ubuntu 16.04LTS (and its dependencies and parents)." More here: https://protonvpn.com/support/linux-vpn-setup/#optionA Since Trisquel is based on Ubuntu, do DNS leaks potentially affect Trisquel as well?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Technoethical T400s now available
Haha. You say you are "criticizing" me, while I "bash" ThinkPenguin and Minifree, but you are not biased. Oh, the irony. Without Richard Stallman working on GNU and Ian Murdock working on its distro Debian (both founders) there would be no Minifree or ThinkPenguin. However, Leah's behavior toward Richard and Christopher's toward Ian, who made their businesses possible in the first place, was abhorrent. Not to mention the general behavior toward small businesses like Technoethical, which they perceived as threats from day 1. FYI, Technoethical would also exist without Libreboot and ath9k_htc free firmware. As you and your friends conveniently have left out, we are the only store to sell phones preinstalled with Replicant. That's not because we've worked against others, we have welcomed them, but because it is so hard to source and refurbish S2, S3 and N2 phones. And one of our first contributions has been the implementation of the initial support in Replicant for external freedom-respecting WiFi adapters. Before that, Replicant users were using mobile data exclusively for connecting to Internet and even the project lead was instructing on his blog how to install nonfree firmware for WiFi on Replicant. Besides phones with Replicant, we also sell internal ath9k (not ath9k_htc) WiFi cards which are the permanent solution for having freedom-respecting WiFi, as they don't take USB ports, don't need any firmware, and they work a lot better, at 2-3 times higher speeds and they're even dual-band. As I mentioned before, free software has no owners, and nowadays no one develops free software from scratch. And of course criticism has nothing to do with merits. An important contribution to free software doesn't give someone a free pass to "abhorrent behavior" that I and the rest of the Technoethical team had to respond to on this forum.
