I use devuan + linux-libre from jxself's repo. :) Works like a charm for my thinkpenguin and x200.

Does it really deal with authentication? Is there an error message saying your password is incorrect? If not, it could be be that the graphical session crashes when it starts. Let us see. Install "xinit" from the text session: $ sudo apt install xinit Try to start X from the text session: $ startx

You can choose when installing (Slackware/Salix Installer) The 14.2 is less user friendly than 14.1 (no Sourcery) quite some missing packages. https://connochaetos.org/wiki/home

For 3 years and for old computers, i had been using SliTaz (run on 50 mb of ram) that has Linux-Libre on his repository.

I just signed up for a disroot account, because it looks really good and they seem to link in with Diaspora as well, which I want to try as an alternative to FB. However, their webmail doesn't seem to run in Icecat with LibreJS enabled, even though LJS isn't showing any scripts being blocked. Has anyone else had this issue? (I had to disable LJS to sign up as well, otherwise their captcha thingy wouldn't load)

It's all in the "hack and hack unholy scriptures" up there. But quick answer: I bought a specific chassis (around 100€) because yes, it had to fit properly. But I remember someone suggesting to simply drill the missing holes in a standard chassis. It's not librebooted since I've had troubles with it on this board, but it's corebooted without blobs. Anyway, you'll find all the details in the links above.

Adding trisquel.info/* to the whitelist for the version of LibreJS that was installed with Icecat didn't help - Icecat still locked up when I tried to access the trisquel site. However, I installed the web extensions version and that seems to work ok. So, I will use that from now on. Thanks for your help! :-)

Thanks. The mainboard is 33 x 33cm. No room for it in my chassis. Do you use an atx chassis? Is your computer librebooted? I could not find a cheap heatsink.

I use posteo and it works very well for me. The german computermagazine ct' listed them as very good when it comes to privacy and secruity.
