Re: [Trisquel-users] Posteo vs Tutanota vs OpenMailbox
I've been looking through the Disroot e-mail options some more, and they have a feature where you can create custom 'identities'. For example, I just made: 'wa...@booble.com'. Does that sort of thing suit your needs? I don't know where they stand on green energy though ..
[Trisquel-users] anonymity for people who don't like firefox
I understand that tor bundle browser ensures that all users have the same browser configuration in the interest of anonymity and that torifying other browsers results in uniqueness. I just wish that they'd chosen something lighter than firefox as their base. What is the best way to achieve as much anonymity as possible with another browser such as lynx or dwb?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Who of this community honestly runs Trisquel GNU/Linux?
Trisquel 7 mini on wifes laptop, Slackware/SalixOS on Desktop, Debian 9 on other pc.
[Trisquel-users] Re : Posteo vs Tutanota vs OpenMailbox
Those questions make little sense. You can never have control over a service someone else runs. See https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/who-does-that-server-really-serve

Re: [Trisquel-users] Posteo vs Tutanota vs OpenMailbox
Kolabnow looks good, are they all libre? Is OpenMailbox all libre?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Posteo vs Tutanota vs OpenMailbox
They do look good! But no custom domain support. :^(
Re: [Trisquel-users] uruk gnu/linux 2.0 beta-2
that's right :) xserver-xorg version is 1:7.7 xserver-xorg-core version is 2:1.18.4
Re: [Trisquel-users] Posteo vs Tutanota vs OpenMailbox
I've just started using Disroot and they seem very good. They use only free software and they say they do e-mail encryption (although I haven't tried it), as well as free IMAP. They also host a Diaspora* pod, which is cool, as well as cloud storage and some other cool services. I had to disable LibreJS to sign up, or their captcha thing wouldn't work. Also, their webmail doesn't load up for me when LibreJS is enabled, even though it doesn't flag any of the code on their site as non-free. I've been disabling LibreJS very briefly, to allow the webmail to load, then re-enabling it, which seems to work fine. Try it out! :-D
Re: [Trisquel-users] uruk gnu/linux 2.0 beta-2
It is X.Org Server 1.18.[1] Released in 9 November 2015.[2] The version 1.7 is from 2009. Trisquel 7 has the version 1.15. [1] https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?suite=xenial=any=names=xserver [2] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X.Org_Server#Releases
Re: [Trisquel-users] uruk gnu/linux 2.0 beta-2
well done ! It's all about freedom! ;)
Re: [Trisquel-users] uruk gnu/linux 2.0 beta-2
I'll try this soon; thanks, Uruk Team! Glad to see you've fixed the 'talking login' issue; want a look at the Uruk Control Center.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Posteo vs Tutanota vs OpenMailbox
I've been leaning toward OpenMailBox because of their normal name, IMAP support, and calendar/contact sharing capabilities, but I'm still a bit hesitant given their being in France, which I'd rank below Germany and Switzerland in terms of government respect for privacy. At this point it looks like the only other alternative for me is KolabNow, but because the name is weird I'd probably need to have to use a custom domain, which would be a hassle to both set up and exit with if I needed to leave.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Who of this community honestly runs Trisquel GNU/Linux?
That isn't completely accurate. Due to the fact that jxself.org's version of linux-libre updates a lot more often. I trust it over debian/devuan's because it updates way more frequently. Other than that, I would agree mostly. But I do not need blobs so I just do it this way anyways.
Re: [Trisquel-users] uruk gnu/linux 2.0 beta-2

>pirate-get command wasn't found (yet installed) Hmm.. just guessing now but did you install it with pip but without sudo (as you should indeed)? If that's the case add this to your .bashrc PATH=$PATH:/home/gnu/.local/bin/
Re: [Trisquel-users] tested majestrate i2p internet torrent?
I2psnark is for torrents in the i2p system. Not internet torrents. Majestrate is maybe for internet torrents.

[Trisquel-users] uruk gnu/linux 2.0 beta-2
It was at times a long, difficult road. But we glad it was long and difficult, because if we hadn’t gone through hell to get there, the lesson might not have been as clear. Hello my name is ali and i'm going to tell you a new chapter from uruk gnu / linux story: It has been said throughout the ages, that there can be no victory, without sacrifice. after we punished from free software lords we returned to holly mate DE hoping that punishment will removed from our system. but we faced some new problems. we try a lot of Lullabys like free software song But nothing has changed so we give MDM as a liability to free software lord to blase our system in the end the system Become works well today in the name of freedom we release a new iso (beta-2) for uruk gnu / linux: changelogs: 1. replacing MDM with LightDM with new login customization 2. Update all packages with the latest versions in repository 3- fixing linux-libre key problem 4- fixing freedom issue in mate menu 5. replacing mate control center with uruk control center (written from scratch) 6. intgrate orca with login session window 7. fixing installer icon issue 8. adding somw new packages with more things you will discover it. (thanks to every one sending a feedback especialy mangy dog and dave hunt) Download 32 bit and 64 bit https://sourceforge.net/projects/urukos/files/2.0/Beta2/ your time is come, you will face a lot of bugs and you must tell us about it have fun and be free ali miracle
Re: [Trisquel-users] asus kfsn4-dre for pc desktop?
Thanks. I am not going to read all the posts. https://libreboot.org/docs/install/#asus-kfsn4-dre Did you refrain from libreboot because you were not able to make libreboot work? On libreboot's homepage it does not say about errors. It is not acceptable if people buy the hardware and then get to know libreboot cannot be installed.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Who of this community honestly runs Trisquel GNU/Linux?
http://pkgs.slitaz.org/?package=linux-libre I must to add that kernels on slitaz are not upgraded to allow run SliTaz on old computers.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Who of this community honestly runs Trisquel GNU/Linux?
Debian (so on Devuan) kernel is completely free, you don't need download linux-libre
Re: [Trisquel-users] Who of this community honestly runs Trisquel GNU/Linux?
Slackware (though I do use freeslack plus prebuilt slackbuild binaries through slapt - it's pretty easy like that)
Re: [Trisquel-users] Share your most useful cli programs...
