It looks like that extension does not exist anymore. It is not even on
http://addons.mozilla.org anymore.

The browser is a different thing (get the tarball, extract and run). You have
installed the Tor client which you can use to torify all your networking.
It's a command line utility. If you only need to browse the web, get the Tor
Browser ehich has onion routing built-in.

Because sudo doesn't carry over: In the example command you gave, gpg using
being run as root but when piped into apt-key, apt-key is running as you and
not root. The correct way would be to put the sudo after the pipe, resulting
in:

gpg --export A3C4F0F979CAA22CDBA8F512EE8CBC9E886DDD89 | sudo apt-key add -

Right. That worked. Thank you. You don't happen to know what they mean in the
last step:

If there are no errors you're good to continue.

We provide a Debian package to help you keep our signing key current. It is
recommended you use it. Install it together with tor:

# apt install tor deb.torproject.org-keyring

I did that, does that mean I'm done? Do I have the browser now? Do you know?

2019-07-10 Thread mjmh

Hm, I have the lxde iso running.

Just used wicd's gui network settings.
From the Menu button, I chose 'Preferences', then changed the
driver it should use from wxget to nl801, works for me.
Also under dns changed to 'dhcp client' instead of 'automatic'.

From synaptic package

work.

Must
/etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf
be modified to
[main]
plugins=ifupdown,keyfile

[ifupdown]
managed=false

[device]
wifi.scan-rand-mac-address=no

They have no file for Trisquel. Trisquel 8 is based on Ubuntu 16.04, Xenial.
Use 'xenial'.

When I do apt update now I get:

does not have a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore
disabled by default.

[Trisquel-users] Re : Bluetooth and Trisquel 8

2019-07-10 Thread lcerf
There is basically no risk: when you install another kernel, the previous
version is still there. It is not substituted. So you can still boot the
previous version from GRUB's menu (the default bootloader, you certainly have
not changed it) if the new one does not work. And you can then remove the
malfunctioning version of the kernel and maybe install yet another one.
Anyway, as Beformed wrote, there is little reason for a newer version of the
kernel to not work at least as well as the older version (well, unless you
have antique hardware).

On Trisquel i use Icecat, because it runs without problems.

With Abrowser i have on two of my laptops, the problem with non readable text
while scrolling down.

I usually setup IceCat because it's binary distributed for more
GNU/Linux distros, and my customizations work in more scenarios.
