[Trisquel-users] Re : Blender installation site not found
It looks like that extension does not exist anymore. It is not even on http://addons.mozilla.org anymore.
Re: [Trisquel-users] "GNU LibreJS appears to be corrupt" error message
When I get that message, it gives me the opportunity to allow the browser to install the add on
Re: [Trisquel-users] "curl: command not found"
The browser is a different thing (get the tarball, extract and run). You have installed the Tor client which you can use to torify all your networking. It's a command line utility. If you only need to browse the web, get the Tor Browser ehich has onion routing built-in.
Re: [Trisquel-users] "curl: command not found"
Because sudo doesn't carry over: In the example command you gave, gpg using being run as root but when piped into apt-key, apt-key is running as you and not root. The correct way would be to put the sudo after the pipe, resulting in: gpg --export A3C4F0F979CAA22CDBA8F512EE8CBC9E886DDD89 | sudo apt-key add -
Re: [Trisquel-users] "curl: command not found"
Right. That worked. Thank you. You don't happen to know what they mean in the last step: If there are no errors you're good to continue. We provide a Debian package to help you keep our signing key current. It is recommended you use it. Install it together with tor: # apt install tor deb.torproject.org-keyring I did that, does that mean I'm done? Do I have the browser now? Do you know?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Atheros 9271 chipset "libre" but "non-free" in Debian - why ?
Hm, I have the lxde iso running. Just used wicd's gui network settings. From the Menu button, I chose 'Preferences', then changed the driver it should use from wxget to nl801, works for me. Also under dns changed to 'dhcp client' instead of 'automatic'.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Atheros 9271 chipset "libre" but "non-free" in Debian - why ?
From synaptic package manager I installed firmware-ath9k-htc on debian 10. Usb wifi AR9271 does not work. Must /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf be modified to [main] plugins=ifupdown, keyfile [ifupdown] managed=false [device] wifi.scan-rand-mac-address=no
Re: [Trisquel-users] "curl: command not found"
They have no file for Trisquel. Trisquel 8 is based on Ubuntu 16.04, Xenial. Use 'xenial'.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Blender installation site not found
Using Abrowser 67.0.4
[Trisquel-users] Blender installation site not found
When I click the "install extension" link on the https://trisquel.info/en/browser/addons/blender wiki page I am directed to a "not found" site.
[Trisquel-users] Should the YaCy and seeks wiki pages be removed?
Since both of them seems to guide the reader to "shady" installation methods.
Re: [Trisquel-users] "curl: command not found"
When I do apt update now I get: E: The repository 'https://deb.torproject.org/torproject.org flidas Release' does not have a Release file. N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default. N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.
Re: [Trisquel-users] "curl: command not found"
Open root terminal as instructed. 'Sudo -i'
Re: [Trisquel-users] "curl: command not found"
But now when I do sudo gpg --export A3C4F0F979CAA22CDBA8F512EE8CBC9E886DDD89 | apt-key add - I get error: ERROR: This command can only be used by root. Even though I used sudo.
Re: [Trisquel-users] "curl: command not found"
xD
Re: [Trisquel-users] "GNU LibreJS appears to be corrupt" error message
I get "Abrowser prevented this site form asking you to install software on your computer" and I can't seem to find the corresponding settings in my preferences.
[Trisquel-users] Re : "GNU LibreJS appears to be corrupt" error message
You can use this link: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/2227399/gnu_librejs-7.20.1-an+fx.xpi
[Trisquel-users] Re : Bluetooth and Trisquel 8
There is basically no risk: when you install another kernel, the previous version is still there. It is not substituted. So you can still boot the previous version from GRUB's menu (the default bootloader, you certainly have not changed it) if the new one does not work. And you can then remove the malfunctioning version of the kernel and maybe install yet another one. Anyway, as Beformed wrote, there is little reason for a newer version of the kernel to not work at least as well as the older version (well, unless you have antique hardware).
[Trisquel-users] Antwort: Abrowser or IceCat?
On Trisquel i use Icecat, because it runs without problems. With Abrowser i have on two of my laptops, the problem with non readable text while scrolling down.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Abrowser or IceCat?
I usually setup IceCat because it's binary distributed for more GNU/Linux distros, and my customizations work in more scenarios.
