Re: [Trisquel-users] This site is almost compatible with IceCat
https://img.bi/ uses javascript with no license(that i could find) meaning deliberately or not its a non-free script please only share media if the option to view it with libre software is available you could upload it to this fourm as a attachment
Re: [Trisquel-users] This site is almost compatible with IceCat
this is good but they rely should put the license in the .html/.js file
Re: [Trisquel-users] Is anyone else getting a CPU spikes when you edit anything in Gedit?
gedit was a bit buggy for me i use geany(awesome editor) notepad++ is a great editor also but i havent figerd out how to compile it for wine with libre software yet

Re: [Trisquel-users] bbc iplayer
i discovered xbmc i am thinking whats the catch and why do people normally recommend youtube-dl for example above xbmc when xbmc is so easy and has a great user interface? is there a reason why pepole tend to recommend youtube-dl above xmbc?
Re: [Trisquel-users] bbc iplayer
xbmc is made for organizing sorting and playing your video collection there’s a very good youtube plugin for xbmc under gpl v2 http://addons.kodi.tv/show/plugin.video.youtube/

Re: [Trisquel-users] Share your Desktop!
Whelp due to HDD failure I had to reinstall my whole system today advice get another HDD bigger than your current one then make a disk image of your main HDD onto that one so that if your system fails you can restore it exactly as it was before example: cd /media/other_HDD/ dd if=/dev/sda of=HDD.img
Re: [Trisquel-users] GNU IceCat talk at LibrePlanet 2015
does Icecat take care of that anyway, and if so- how? Is it through a about:config setting/settings)? i may be misinterpreting your question but when i disable js in ice cat my about:config has js disabled
Re: [Trisquel-users] LIBRE PLANET 2015 is here....!!
libreplanet was very good i flashed my x200 (that i got from the fsf store) with a beaglebone or someone else showed me how to do it there were lots of good talks that were recorded and i assume will soon be uploaded but i missed the icecat talk as i was flashing libreboot :( i diddnt go to the party venu as i was way to tired partly due to jet lag but i discoverd that theres a rely good juice bar near central square, cambridge that has awesome carrot and celery and ginger juice! also remember to remove the 3g modems that come with the x200's they have direct memory acsess and a propietry os so it could be a hardware backdoor also as its a 3g modem its trackable in the same way as a phone is trackable i gave myn to someone who liked killing them with hammers!
Re: [Trisquel-users] Can't boot NetInstall
some ways to write a iso file to usb drive dd if=trisquel.iso of=/dev/(usb drive name goes here) unetbootin lets you write a iso file to usb stick: http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ http://92.19.232.58:82/code/html/unetbootin_libre.html
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3G modems coming integrated with Next Gen Intel Atom (for real this time)
i sometimes use tor just to help the network be more anonymous but as Samsung and the nsa know just about everything about me as my family’s smart tv is recording everything anyone in my house ses and they have decided that a high resolution tv and netflix is more important than freedom i have kind of excepted that close to everything i do is monitored and i have to wait a few years to move out

Re: [Trisquel-users] Tablets that can run GNU/Linux
there is a tablet version of the thinkpad x60 and the x60(and therefore x60 tablet) with libreboot installed is compatible with gnu/linux(if you change the wifi card) you can find info here http://www.libreboot.org/docs/hcl/index.html#supported_x60_list
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3G modems coming integrated with Next Gen Intel Atom (for real this time)
dose anyone know if its possible to make your own motherboards, cpu's, gpu's, HDD's, etc how would you get the machines to make computer hardware? this seems like the only answer i don’t think we can just trust intel or amd and hope for the best
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3G modems coming integrated with Next Gen Intel Atom (for real this time)
is there any way it could be cheaper if you were willing to have lower spec chips? like the arm cpu's
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3G modems coming integrated with Next Gen Intel Atom (for real this time)
true but as Intel's goal is profits and not human rights i think we rely need to fight back with computers made for the benefit of people and not the benefit of the few
Re: [Trisquel-users] Tablets that can run GNU/Linux
just make sure to read the libreboot info here: http://www.libreboot.org/docs/hcl/index.html#supported_x60t_list that’s if you installing libreboot i think you could use it without but obviously libreboot would be better
Re: [Trisquel-users] Test and install Trisquel on any laptops without operating system
is it possible to work the processor, graphics and drivers before testing and installing Trisquel sorry what do you mean by that? do you mean will everything work with trisquel? if so we can tell you if you tell us what kind of hardware you have e.g laptop name/model and you can test if trisquel works with your computer by booting to a live usb/cd
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3G modems coming integrated with Next Gen Intel Atom (for real this time)
do you not believe treating others with respect is a good thing? if you were born a women how would you feel about this text you support? Deuteronomy 22 28-29 “If a man meets a virgin who is not betrothed, and seizes her and lies with her, and they are found, then the man who lay with her shall give to the father of the young woman fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has violated her. He may not divorce her all his days. which to me is saying that if you are raped by a man you must be his wife and you have no say in it do you think rape is immoral? i think you should give everyone equal rights and equal respect no matter what sex they are
Re: [Trisquel-users] I'm getting pops from my speakers every I start an application that uses sound on my Libreboot X60.

Re: [Trisquel-users] 3G modems coming integrated with Next Gen Intel Atom (for real this time)
i know if you put broken gpu's in microwaves they can start working again so this may not work...
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3G modems coming integrated with Next Gen Intel Atom (for real this time)
you seem to be saying its ok to abuse women. why do you think you should have more rights than someone else just because there a women? i feel you are basing most or all of your views on the old testament do you not think it would be better to do things weather they are good or bad for the world and not weather the old testament ses its ok?
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3G modems coming integrated with Next Gen Intel Atom (for real this time)
what exactly are you talking about? you arnt very clear in what your trying to explain or at as least not to me This is all to enforce America's feminist police state / empire world wide. what do you mean by a feminist police state and empire? you definitly dont seem to be treating women equal to men why is this?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Test and install Trisquel on any laptops without operating system
google are a very bad company who make all there money by collecting all the data they possibly can about you if you are going to use a search engine try these: www.duckduckgo.com/html www.startpage.com www.ixquick.com

Re: [Trisquel-users] How to check whether the software is free or not?
if your ever not sure weather a program is free or not all you need to do is make sure it has a free license and then compile it from source it you can do this is libre or you could just ask on this forum
Re: [Trisquel-users] Brother DCP-7055 printer
sorry but i am not too sure what to do i recommend trying the manufacturer drivers mentioned by Legiment as posted here: https://trisquel.info/en/forum/brother-dcp-7055-printer#comment-64331 it may be a good idea to start a new post as i think i have reached the limits of how i can help and others probably will be-able to i hope you can get it working and i am sure others will know more than me
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel in Asus 1015E
weird can you boot any of the distros here: https://www.gnu.org/distros/free-distros.html just to check its not non-free software thats the problem
Re: [Trisquel-users] 3G modems coming integrated with Next Gen Intel Atom (for real this time)
i hear that you can easily make a toy prosessor that would run at 100khz source: https://trisquel.info/en/forum/3g-modems-coming-integrated-next-gen-intel-atom-real-time#comment-65888 so what is the thing that stops you making a 1mhz prosessor or 100mhz prosessor? what is the thing that suddenly make it so you have to buy a 9 billion dollar cpu factory? i think about 22mhz would be acceptable for modern computer use you would have to make a new operating system for it something like Kolibri OS it would be-able to run a gui and some basic modern program like a spreadsheet or powerpoint application or media player
Re: [Trisquel-users] Tablets that can run GNU/Linux
when you say tablet what do you mean? why do you think the x60t would not do?
Re: [Trisquel-users] unetbootin fork
i have since changed the list to these distros: Trisquel Trisquel mini Blag Dragora DyneBolic Musix Parabola Ututo Gnewsense
Re: [Trisquel-users] replacement for adobe after effects?
i use kdenlive for video editing: https://kdenlive.org/
Re: [Trisquel-users] unetbootin fork
i use it sometimes its convenient if you need a os on you usb stick and you don’t have the iso file already
Re: [Trisquel-users] replacement for adobe after effects?
its never done that for me when i was editing lots of clips into a 13 minit video
Re: [Trisquel-users] Libreboot x60 always at 100% cpu usage
it seems to be mostly system prosessors like init so dose this mean that my computer is just too slow? i wondered if libreboot had anything to do with it as this was not happening before
Re: [Trisquel-users] AMD processors will support Coreboot better than Intel in the future
I love using AMD processors anyways since they are cheaper AMD prossesors are cheaper in the short term but they use more power than intel prosessors i guess a arm v6 would be a good option for cheapness and power
Re: [Trisquel-users] unetbootin fork
i have removed Debian here is the new version but dose anyone know how i could give this the trisquel developers? in a previous comment legiment said You would have to make a package helper to submit it to Trisquel. how would i do this? would i need to compile it into a deb file?
Re: [Trisquel-users] installing libreboot on a x60 thinkpad
i have has success! i got it to boot to a usb the mistake i made was using unetbootin to make a live usb stick make sure you follow the instructions here: http://libreboot.org/docs/gnulinux/grub_boot_installer.html
Re: [Trisquel-users] Spying software hidden deep within hard drives made by Western Digital, Seagate, Toshiba and other top manufacturers
it was a bit of a joke but i think any HDD made when the internet was in wide use has a chance of having spy-ware your best option would be a cdrom drive made in the early 1990's if your a political activist or whistle-blower then it would be a good idea to not go online at all and if you do then use a program like tor and use a early 1990's cd drive to boot to a libre os that you compiled yourself on a offline machine with a libreboot bios that you complied yourself on a offline machine then for extra security you would want a diffrent isp and router than the one at your house so if they can get through tor they wont trace it back to you but if your just a normal computer user then we have to make the best of what we have and keep working towards a computer with compleatly libre everything HDD firmware and all
Re: [Trisquel-users] Libreboot x60 always at 100% cpu usage
weird top is saying my cpu usage is about 60% and system monitor is saying 100% maby its just system montior thats wrong i will try running some other distros like gnewsense to see if it improves
Re: [Trisquel-users] SMPlayer doesn't play youtube vids
Youtube now adopt full html5. with non-free javascript
Re: [Trisquel-users] unetbootin fork
i guess as i put the links in the source code myself i have more confidence that it wont be out of date but i do intend to update the program when new updates come out i will probably make a website or gitorios page for it eventually
Re: [Trisquel-users] Libreboot x60 always at 100% cpu usage
recommended replacement so you can chose if you want systemmd or not: https://www.parabola.nu/
Re: [Trisquel-users] Spying software hidden deep within hard drives made by Western Digital, Seagate, Toshiba and other top manufacturers
if your a normal user then yes but if your are a whistle blower in the nsa for example its very very important you don’t get caught but if your just a normal user then a x60 with libreboot is good
Re: [Trisquel-users] OS X, iOS and Linux have more vulnerabilities than Windows!!!!!
this may be true (though i don’t think its true) but you have to remember as gnu/linux-libre is libre software more vulnerability's will be discovered Note the word Discovered its a good thing if a vulnerability is discovered in a libre program because it means people can fix it if it were never discovered then how would it ever get fixed? so the fact there are less vulnerability's discovered in m$ windows may mean Micro$oft just don’t try and find them or leave them open as a backdoor

Re: [Trisquel-users] unetbootin fork
thanks!
Re: [Trisquel-users] unetbootin fork
heres the source code
[Trisquel-users] unetbootin fork
hi i made a fork of unetbootin that replaces the non-free distros you can download with all the distros here: https://www.gnu.org/distros/free-distros.html the reason why i made this was unetbootin is not included in trisquel as it makes it very easy to install a non-free distro like Ubuntu etc so hopefully unetbootin can now be in tirsquel here is a list of the distros i included in it: Trisquel Trisquel mini Blag Dragora DyneBolic Debian(i know i know just keep reading) Musix Parabola Ututo Gnewsense as you may of noticed Debian is in that list and this is the main reason why i am posting this should Debian be included? its completely libre by default
Re: [Trisquel-users] Spying software hidden deep within hard drives made by Western Digital, Seagate, Toshiba and other top manufacturers
Take pen and paper, there you go; problem solved. you could just use a offline computer with no wifi or bluetooth card
Re: [Trisquel-users] unetbootin fork
what warning message should i put? i made a test warning:
Re: [Trisquel-users] unetbootin fork
if i am going to include debian i think i have a good warning message:
Re: [Trisquel-users] Spying software hidden deep within hard drives made by Western Digital, Seagate, Toshiba and other top manufacturers
i guess get a non modem-ed motherboard with no wifi blue-tooth etc and never have it online :(
Re: [Trisquel-users] X200s: Libreboot with Linux-libre payload?
i found this page on the coreboot wiki: http://www.coreboot.org/Payloads coreboot is just libreboot but with non-free blobs so as long as you make sure your not installing non-free software the info on here is relevant to libreboot
Re: [Trisquel-users] X200s: Libreboot with Linux-libre payload?

Re: [Trisquel-users] are there free software cameras with batteries?
this post is about free software helping people use free software instead of non-free software is on of the main goals of trisquel
Re: [Trisquel-users] dr. gnu i have to heal my apple hw how?
i think the question was how can i free my apple phone with a os like replicant? and as much as the question could of been clearer its related to free software which is closely related to trisquel
Re: [Trisquel-users] dr. gnu i have to heal my apple hw how?
as i think this question was not rely attempted to be answerd i will post what i think xfury was trying to ask: my question is how i could recycle my apple hw* including my iphone (from that i read it could possible to install android and then replicant) to gnu/linux freedom. *hw means hardware.
Re: [Trisquel-users] computer monitoring software
or just everyone likes to post shit, about non trisquel issues all the time? sometimes people post about non-trisquel related topics yes if this question was in the troll hole its fairly sure it would get zero or minimal attention
Re: [Trisquel-users] are there free software cameras with batteries?
Respectfully and don't scream at me. i don’t believe i ever did i agree that there needs to be more forum folders but until then i think its the only way people can get there questions noticed
Re: [Trisquel-users] Watching vidoes on youtube
i don’t think you should of been down-voted and i didn’t down-vote you but instead of posting lots of the same comment about how there needs to be a different forum for off topic posts (which there rely should be) you could try using this page as we currently don’t have a off topic fourm https://trisquel.info/en/contact
Re: [Trisquel-users] Brother DCP-7055 printer
at the end of the video i was saying if the printer dose not work then maby its the driver your installing that dose not work (although it should) because i do not have a printer i could not test these drivers out if you installed the driver you should now be-able to set up your printer
Re: [Trisquel-users] unetbootin fork
i am currently doing this but i was having a few problems with making a git repo with https so i will try with ssh tomorrow(sleep)

thanks!
Re: [Trisquel-users] Is anyone else getting a CPU spikes when you edit anything in Gedit?
i can run it in wine but i want to beable to compile it as if you can only compile it on a non-free os(windows) its not free software i would need to compile n++ on a libre os like mikeos, libertybsd or gnu/linux
Re: [Trisquel-users] Somebody has experience with Trisquel in a Lenovo Thinkpad T520?
it might be a good idea to make a forum post about libre voice recondition software

Re: [Trisquel-users] Best choice for a Single-Board-Computer?
is risc os libre software?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Canonical?
i dont think you can say the same for apples mobile computers.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Canonical?
i was attracted by the gnu philosophy this video: but if i had not ever started using non-free hipocritical distros like ubuntu i would of never found out about gnu and libre software i wonder how much publicity libre distros if there were no non-libre ones maby a bsd distro would become what ubuntu is now as weird as it is. if it wasnt for ubuntu i would probberly be using microsoft windows right now using microsoft visual c++ it gives me nightmares -.-
