Pretty much just follow the advice for installing cyanogenmod like unlocking bootloader if locked, installing custom recovery. Only thing thats a bit different is that your flashing an image file instead of a zip file.

Okay so it's better to use Intel graphics as Nvidia and ATI are not well supported.

Thanks mason that explains some issues but is there a more technical explanation as to why it isn't so simple as to just remove proprietary bits.

I am glad that Microsoft office supports open formats now because I remember years ago when I was at school my teachers actually had open office installed so they could read open formats and that was great but when they upgraded there computers they didn't want to bother installing it for

You can download anti virus software for linux called clamav and you can also download calmtk which is the graphical interface for clamav and just scan any thing you download from the internet with that. There are also paid anti virus products for linux but clamav is free.

The entire point of running Trisquel is to run a system thats fully free software if this isn't your goal then I suggest installing Ubuntu instead and running it with the proprietary bits you require. As far as I know only Intel graphicss is fully supported under Trisquel for hardware

I would use Tor as my main browser for privacy concerns but it's like browsing the internet on dial up speeds and a lot of websites block it now days.

G'day Trisquel Forums. I am running Trisquel Mini 8.0 64-Bit. I can't stand using FSF web browsers such as Abrowser or Icecat or Iceweasel and would rather use Firefox or Chromium so I have gone ahead and installed them on my system. But I am wondering why are these web browsers removed
