You're mistaking unar (command-line version of The Unarchiver) with unrar.  
There is no such thing as "unar-free". unar supports all versions of RAR.

Unar is very interesting alternative that should be in Trisquel. Why? Because  
we must create the best, libre, GNU/Linux distro ever. If we can support  
printers - we should add support to system (cups), if we can scan, we should  
give a software for that. If we can extract rar files - we should give unar  
to ISO

Unar is on the Parabola's repos. Of course it should be on Trisquel's too! I  
use it and it's very useful

I heard unar-free cannot do v3 of RAR files, but unar can. Maybe newer  
versions of unar-free can now. I just don't use RAR files anymore.

Unar is FOSS software to unpack archives - ZIP, 7zip etc. but also RAR (unrar  
is not free software so ...).


We should add them to Trisquel ISO 8.0
