I 'solved' this my backing up my home files and reinstall T7.0 while
overwriting home as well, and copying the backed up files to the new home.
I also tried the passprase generated by luks, but it's not that either...
You chose an encrypted home folder by checking the related box in Trisquel
installer, right?Yes
Any weird character in your password? No
As suggested by the message from tty1 I ran the 'ecryptfs-mount-privat'
command and was prompted for my login passphrase. It returns:
Error: Unwrapping passphrase and inserting into the user session keyring
failed [-5]
Info: Check the system log for more information from libecryptfs
ERROR:
Gracias!
That does not seem to be identical to my problem then.

I make a quick translation from this article from
BTW, can it be related to the fact that I was running Cinnamon, which is not
installed (yet)?

There is no issue with the keyboard configuration. I can log in after
pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1 but not without issues.
After the 'Welcome to Trisquel GNU/Linux 7.0, Belenos (GNU/Linux
3.13.0-39-lowlatency x86_64)' and the '3D' TRISQUEL graphics, I get
Welcome to Trisquel GNU/Linux
I tried to reinstall Belenos (a couple of times) but the problem stayed the
same. After reinstalling Flidas, I can log in.
I would like to downgrade to Belenos though. Why am I having this problem?
I just noticed: If I type ewrong password, I am met with a message saying
that username or passwrod is unknown. So it does register my password to be
correct for the username. Still I am not logged in.
After trying Flidas/T8.0 for a while I just replaced it with Belenos/T7.0.
Now I can't log in.
I believe I used same computer name, username and password.
Any ideas on how to solve this situation?
maybe your keyboard layout changes - try setting the keyboard input method in
language support within the settings menu from ibus to none
I tried installing xfce but when I select it from the session menu it does
not recognize my password. LXDE still works fine. What else do I need to do?
Hi, I'm trying to run Trisquel from a boot disc. It prompts me to enter a
username/password. When I leave blank it fails. What do I need to enter to
log in? Any help appreciated. Thanks
That worked perfectly. Many thanks!
What steps did you follow. I have a fresh install of Trisquel mini in a
virtual machine. I could try to replicate it if you tell me what did you
did. I don't know anything about openbox is why I ask.
I.E. Did you
1) Install Trisquel mini
2) Install some package
3) Try to switch desktop
I have the same issue with the GNOME/Openbox session, but I've had this issue
on other distros in the past too. However, the normal Openbox session (when
installed with LXDE or separately) does work for me. I wouldn't expect
GNOME/Openbox to work on an LXDE install anyway, though it has in
And if you go to /usr/share/xsessions/ and cat the openbox file, what do you
get?
That kind of behavior occurs if the executable is not there.
I was able to log in an Openbox session by going to the default setup
(Trisquel Mini) and clicking Openbox from the menu, logging out, then logging
in choosing Openbox. I've been able to log in several times since.
I tried logging into an Openbox/Gnome session and am unable to do so.

Hello,
I installed Trisquel 5.0 Mini and when I choose any Openbox session
(Gnome/Openbox or just Openbox) it tries login, screen goes black for a few
seconds, but bounces back to the login screen. I checked the Issues page to
see if this is covered and couldn't find anything.
