No it's not. Trisquel is released roughly every 2 years. Please don't expect
8 until closer to the end of 2016. Possibly not even until 2017.
Trisquel 8 is near, right? Maybe this month. :|
> I successfully installed it (.deb after .deb) on Trisquel 7 but it does not
work
How about compiling the sources? I've read the instructions in the readme
file - pretty straightforward.
Gracias. A ver si esa versión funciona bien, de verdad.
es-en doesn't work.
And other translations are not as good as they should be. :(
Please, someone recommend a good free translator. :)
1. Probably when Ubuntu does (maybe Trisquel 8, not sure).
2. It's SaaSS but it's better than using google... Perfect would be to use
apertium in your own computer (hopefully you will have it running better than
I do).
1. apertium version on its web is: 3.3.2. (2016-01-02)
When will Trisquel update this package?
2. apertium has a translation web: https://www.apertium.org. Could we use it
or we must not because it is a SaaS?
Thanks,
Yeah, that's because it's SaaSS. The only solution to this is for the
translation software to be running on your own computer and libre. You can't
solve SaaSS by creating an alternative SaaSS solution.
Tor provides anonymity, but companies still receive data. :(
Hey there.
That's the same version. For both.
I have tried actually using a file as input and the same thing happens. So,
not sure why it happens.
It would be a convenience if it was working. I didn't know there were offline
alternatives to google translator, and certainly not free ones as
that is not the reason why it is not working. What is the version of apertium
in Trisquello? Here, apertium=3.1.0-2 and apertium-tolk=0.2-2.2
A couple of silly questions:
1.) What happens without using quotes
2.) What happens using single quotes 'Hello my good friend' instead of
"Hello my good friend"
Already tried and it doesn't work any better.
Tor would do that just fine. The real problem with Google Translate is that
it's SaaSS.
Maybe try to delete and reinstall again. I doubt just restating the computer
would fix anything here.
Hey guys.
I have installed apertium, apertium-tolk, python-glade2, and all the
available languages. However both in command line and in GUI it only
translates the first word. For example:
"Hello my good friend"
only gives me "Hola".
Is something wrong on my part??
When run from command
Use Apertium.
If you want to use Apertium graphically (in a user-friendly way),
install "apertium-tolk" (with the O letter). Of course, you can also
visit the project's official site and download the latest version and
dictionaries. And it's advised that you contribute to Apertium in some
way

There should be a Libre alternative to the site
https://translate.google.com/, where no data is recollected and used against
users.
I use https://translate.g00gl3.*/ to translate. Could you recommend something
similar?
* I hate G00gl3 because of they steal our ideas, data and our lives.

I have no idea, srry.
I can only assure you it works fine here :(
/usr/bin/apertium-tolk:69: GtkWarning: IA__gtk_toolbar_set_icon_size:
assertion 'icon_size != GTK_ICON_SIZE_INVALID' failed
self.glade = tolk.GladeXML(path) # Instantiate our custom Glade class which

Hmm, I just installed it on this installation and it won't run without
python-glade2
gnu@debian:~$ apertium-tolk

apertium-tolk doesn't work right. ;(
(python-glade2 already installed)
You should check **apertium**, I have used it to translate from English to
Spanish and it worked really great.
Problem is apertium supports only a few languages so far, but they are
planning to add more in the future. Anyway the program works great and is
quite powerful.
sudo apt-get
