Re: [Trisquel-users] NVIDIA Releases Initial Signed Firmware Images For GTX 900 Series Open-Source Support
the irony being you give money to NVIDIA by doing so
Re: [Trisquel-users] NVIDIA Releases Initial Signed Firmware Images For GTX 900 Series Open-Source Support
I guess a libre driver with proprietary firmware is better than a proprietary driver, but that's rather like saying that tooth decay is better than not having teeth at all.
Re: [Trisquel-users] NVIDIA Releases Initial Signed Firmware Images For GTX 900 Series Open-Source Support
I don't want give my money to AMD buying their blobbed furnance GPUs. I prefer buy Kepler, which is works firmwareless, and performs with Nouveau like with blob.

Bank notes don't count as hardware? :)
[Trisquel-users] NVIDIA Releases Initial Signed Firmware Images For GTX 900 Series Open-Source Support
http://phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item=NVIDIA-Releases-Signed-Blobs This means the latest NVIDIA cards will soon be usable with Nouveau on GNU/Linux, but with proprietary signed firmware. What do you think?
Re: [Trisquel-users] NVIDIA Releases Initial Signed Firmware Images For GTX 900 Series Open-Source Support
Forget that blobbed crap (900 series), and get Kepler cards.
Re: [Trisquel-users] NVIDIA Releases Initial Signed Firmware Images For GTX 900 Series Open-Source Support
Nvidia will only release signed firmware due to their mentality of keeping their hardware "safe" by locking out anyone and everyone from writing firmware that could potentially leave the hardware open to potential security vulnerabilities. Of course that is their viewpoint and not mine as having the firmware open under the bazaar model will benefit them.
