UEFI is Bios firmware that prevents people from installing Freedom :-( ..or
gives them a hard time..

That means though that the Uruk kernel Linux-Libre 4.8 boots with UEFI

This comment however seems to confirm what you are experiencing, ie
I can confirm that the Trisquel iso image, while written successfully, won't
