I never tried Parbola. I cannot say why I'm using GuixSD, but I wish to install Linux From Scratches. So if you have similar way you can try it. I did not got any problems on GuixSD.

You can take a look at their git repo and see there is work in progress, I remember Leah saying the next version will be out whenever ready, there is no roadmap or something. Slow and having issues? Maybe. Dead? Not yet.

There IS an Atheros WLAN card usable on T400 (authorized by Lenovo). It is, however, a low-end AR2425 model. I can search for its FRU ID for you so you can purchase one if needed.

I bought a "new" 10 year old Lenovo Thinkpad T-400 for $60. I love it but it has an intel wifi card for which there is no non-proprietary firmware. I went to the trouble of installing an atheros wifi card but unfortunately it wasn't on the Thinkpad's "whitelist" and the computer wouldn't
