It was updated on Debian Stable to the latest version a few weeks ago. On my
very old lappy I can play smoothly only 480p HEVC though.. :(

Any chance of having a newer version of VLC available from the official
Trisquel repos?
I have some videos in HEVC / H.265 that I can't play with the actual 2.1.6
version or could someone please recommend another solution.
