I just started using Trisquel GNU/Linux, also tried PureOS (which is a nice
free distro) but I didn't feel at home (mostly due to GNOME 3).
Anyway, now on Trisquel I see the default browser is Abrowser. One thing I
don't like is that it is not up to date (security concerns) so I

Yep, they are creepy and disgusting and their power is just too much, we have
to difund the free software
Noscript is a good one, Ublock origin and privacy possum are also really
smart choices.
Ghostery is a really, really bad idea.
Actually, even suspend doesn't always work. All is good with Mate though so
it's pretty frustrating.

I won't have time to investigate any further for next few days, but if no one
else has helped you by then I'll look into it. In the meantime, I suggest
suspending and hibernating manually
