With all the (understandable) attention Fallon got for his drinking when he nearly lost a digit, I've often wondered how Colbert seems to get a pass for the on-camera drinking (which goes beyond whatever liquor he keeps in a cabinet near the desk).  Maybe Fallon should have drank more stuff

I disagree with KO. I have always seen Colbert as the most liberal person regularly on mainstream entertainment TV (far more liberal than, say, Jon Stewart). He was liberal way before Trump was a thing. But he is liberal is a particular way - liberal Catholic. A lot of secular folks on the Left

Given that Colbert thinks the world of Licht, who seems to be living down to everything KO describes him as being, I'm going with Olbermann on this one. That Colbert does not like TFG is obvious, but most of his other politics seem to be pretty moderate. Of course, it could just be the alcohol

Olbermann was living in Trump Tower while he was berating how evil Trump was. He has no credibility to criticize anyone else’s liberalism. On Thu, Jan 19, 2023 at 11:54 AM Stan S wrote: > I wasn’t aware until this week that Olbermann wasn’t a Colbert fan either, > having said “he’s not as

I wasn’t aware until this week that Olbermann wasn’t a Colbert fan either, having said “he’s not as liberal as he would like you to believe.” Anderson Cooper is already in that spot and he could handle the comedy/news show while not being out of place if breaking news happens during his show.

Agree about BriWi. Jonathan Lemire, who hosts Way Too Early on MSNBC, was entertaining the other night on Seth Meyers. I've never seen his show, but he's an actual reporter who might work well. Although leaving the relative stability of MSNBC for CNN sounds like buying a lottery ticket to

Which is my cue to post what I have been screaming into the void since I read about this story on Puck News: BRIAN WILLIAMS Dude is a serious news guy, but has been half a late night humorist for 20 years. He could do a light hearted riff on regular current events, interact with guests, and picot

Although I will not call Licht a "paste-eater" like he does, I would tend to agree with Keith Olbermann that the problem with a comedian fronting CNN in prime time is this: What do they do when news breaks and jokes are inappropriate? Stewart and Maher have never been tested with having to
