Listening to today’s interview with President Biden, a few quick observations:
Comparing it to Marc Maron interviewing Obama, this is a better interview, but less of a conversation. Biden had a few stories he came prepared to work into the conversation, which he did, but Conan managed the interview reasonably well. Thinking back three decades to Conan taking over Late Night, his interviews were the weakest points of the show. Now, his show is almost exclusively interviews and conversations, and I like it more than when his TV shows were focused on comedy. Biden was not the Democratic candidate I wanted for president, and he’s made mistakes, but he has treated this nation with respect and handled his office with integrity. Kevin M.
