I'm in (what I assume) is the middle of the monologue, and it's truly
painful, especially the pauses for the (non-existent) laughs. Mark Evanier
suggested last week that Colbert try doing the show from home, Skyping in
guests, but if this is the level of broadcast that would result, I'd prefer
While I like a lot of what Colbert does, those segments with the mother
make me want to throw things through the television screen. I'd rather be
trapped in an elevator with Kristen Wiig.

ABC Jimmy already had Mayor Pete scheduled to be a guest host on Thursday. He
had Patrick Stewart on to flog Picard. I now know what it would look like if
Sheldon Cooper ever hosted a talk show.
