RE: [TV orNotTV] 'S.H.I.E.L.D.,' 'Blacklist' Score Hot Numbers
Snippity: And is there an ABC Studios credit in the titles of S.H.I.E.L.D., or does it begin with the Marvel logo? Answer: both. The show begins with the Marvel logo, but when the chyron title credits roll across the bottom of the screen, the first one is An ABC Studios Production. Kanye and Piers are both grandiose fools, and I don't really care about them. But it does make me sympathetic for the plight of publicists and other PR professionals in the age of Twitter. I have to believe that no professional worth their pay would allow a client to respond in such an adolescent and ineffective manner - but they can't really do anything if their client sends out a twitter message late at night. I should think the first rule of any publicist in the modern age would be that none of their clients should be allowed to operate twitter or facebook. If they need a presence, the publicist could hire someone to do it for them. That misses the point of Twitter and Facebook and social media in general. D'accord. Best English-language performance I've seen by Kruger so far - and unhampered by the ever-so-slight foreign lilt audible in her line deliveries during previous American film work. I suspect this specific instance is an example of a story that isn't a story. Kanye's fans are well aware of his ego, and Kimmel's fans know his style of comedy. Nobody has gained or lost in this exchange. Nobody lost fans and nobody gained them. The only media hype generated seems to be from media outlets who exist for the sole purpose of manufacturing hype.
