2018-06-18 Thread Kevin M.
Tronc is now Tribune Publishing.

Our long badly-named nightmare is finally over.

Re: [TV orNotTV] Re: are some Fox stations not carrying World Cup?

2018-06-18 Thread Mark Jeffries
In Chicago, Comcast offers FS1 on all of their 100+ channel packages--ESPN,
NBCSN and NBCSN Chicago are not on the lowest-priced "Economy" tier and
FS1 is the only sports channel on that tier. However, I've been noticing
that stores and bars I've walked that are showing the World Cup have on
Telemundo's coverage of the Cup games that are on FS1, probably because
it's easier to remember channel 44 (Chicago TEL station WSNS--Comcast has
WSNS on channel 4) than a three-digit number (Comcast's FS1 channel number
is 408--Wiki says on DirecTV it's 209).

[TV orNotTV] Re: are some Fox stations not carrying World Cup?

2018-06-18 Thread daniel anderson
ABC stations don't have to worry about E/I these days- almost all of their
waivers are for college football. If the Fox stations can't figure out what
to do with E/I, then most games should be on cable.

[TV orNotTV] Re: Member of Blues Brothers band gone

2018-06-18 Thread M-D November
For those of you familiar with the film, but not so good with names, in
"The Blues Brothers", Matt "Guitar" Murphy's character was married to
Aretha Franklin's soul-food proprietress. (In the unfortunate, but still
musically sound sequel, they'd moved on up to the East Side and parlayed
the soul food shack into a Mercedes dealership.)

I thought "War for..." finished that franchise off. Or are they already
planning a reboot?
