30 years late last night, as #16 seed Maryland-Baltimore County, the 
Retrievers from the America East Conference, trounced a suddenly-sputtering 
Virginia side by 20, crushing millions who'd had the Cavaliers taking the 
trophy... ESPN

The statmeisters at FiveThirtyEight didn't even have this UMBC bunch as the 
most likely to do the deed... that would have been the nearby Penn Quakers

As a director of local news now in his 20th year of dealing with abbreviated, 
late, and/or tape-delayed newscasts during March Madness, I can tell you 
first-hand that local news is, by all appearances, nowhere on their radar.
