Re: [TV orNotTV] NFL clears up Week 15

Fox was planning to air Cowboys-Bills in 89% of the nation, with
Eagles-Seahawks going to 10%. By moving the latter to ABC, Fox can pump
Cowboys-Bills to the whole nation. (and you notice, the Cardinals used
their blackout two weeks ago, knowing this could happen.

I read that Fox left Cowboys-Bills unprotected.

>From a podcast interview with the NFL’s VP of Broadcast Planning: flexing
is done to move playoff relevant games from 1 PM to prime time. So it’s not
a simple matter of looking for games that will draw more viewers. The
Chiefs and Patriots (Chiefs in, Patriots out) is less relevant than Eagles
and Seahawks (Eagles in, Seahawks contending).

And the 4/4:30 national games get more viewers (30 million) than Sunday
night (28 million) so the networks won’t agree to flex them to prime time.
