[TV orNotTV] Space Shuttle Parade...

2012-10-13 Thread Kevin M.
For those not in the LA area, not sure how much national coverage is
being given to the Endeavour's final journey. I went to the Formerly
Fabulous Forum this morning to sneak a peak... totally worth it. Here
are my humble photos which do not do it justice:

Here is NBC's live feed of the trek through Inglewood and downtown,
where you can see the enthusiasm of kids and adults:

CBS Evening News did a piece on it last night. While I was directing
our 6:00 news, CBS was running the raw video on the network line, and
I pretty much put my show on auto-pilot to watch their video. Their
camera was on top of a building a block or two away, panning along as
Endeavour travelled down the street. As it passed between taller
buildings, all you could see was the vertical stabilizer rising up
above the rooflines; it looked like a slow-motion recreation of the
opening of Airplane!. Very cool; really wish I'd been there to see
it in person...
