Same here in southern Ontario, where I was watching the FOX 29 Buffalo
feed. We got DAL/DEN until the end. The Canadian CTV affiliate simulcasting
the game cut away at 8 p.m. because they had the rights to the Emmys.

Could have FOX left the Cowboys-Broncos game once it got to a 3 score game,
to switch to the Rams-Redskins game? that would have been a better option,
since it would have allowed prime to start at 8.

Here in Northern Michigan (well and truly in the red zone on that map), Fox
moved us to the Washington game during the delay, then switched back once
things picked back up in Denver. We got DAL-DEN all the way through to the
end, with “The Orville” starting around 8:51 or so (and running in its
entirety). The 9pm “Family Guy” rerun was dropped, and the 9:30 “Simpsons” ran

It wasn’t until kickoff of the Sunday night game that Fox had to cut away
(i.e., about 5:38). I’m positive that Fox got to stay with the game until its
conclusion in Dallas and Denver. I’m also positive that they had to cut away in

NBC has a monopoly on NFL starting at 5:00 pm (Pacific Time). This
occasionally (as it did today) effects the Red Zone as well. What is a
little unclear to me, and from this thread, is how this effects the primary
game in a home market. Did Dallas and Denver really have the game cut off
before it ended? That does not sound right. But probably everyone else did.

Okay, after watching the Emmys, I got to my DVR recording of “The Orville,”
could actually see what happened, and have an answer: due to NFL rules, Fox
had to cut away from the game once the Sunday night game started, at least in

I see, from 506sports.com’s maps, that the primary game they were showing in
Reno was 49ers-Seahawks. Did they actually switch to Broncos-Cowboys once that
one was over, or did they go to “The O.T.,” the studio show? I assume the
latter would have had frequent live look-ins on Broncos-Cowboys, but would have
