I was in grad school, and to my eternal shame I did buy a Crockett style
jacket and attended class and parties for a few months with the jacket
sleeves pushed up over a tee shirt. In my head there was an elaborate Phil
Collins drum solo playing over my entrance into every room. So grateful
there
One small note I saw in reading about the rebranding is that Weigel didn’t
contract with Nielsen for ratings for Decades. They will be getting ratings
for the new format. So I don’t know how they sold commercial time but the
new format will increase their revenue.

Maybe I am naive but I think Baldwin’s career is already over, regardless
of the outcome. He is at real legal jeopardy here, and the only thing that
matters (for him) is limiting that jeopardy. I think his legal team has
already done a good job for him, getting charges reduced and getting a
Baldwin is at an age where lots and lots of people retire and like many of
those people it might not be his choice. Hollywood can certainly get along
without his services.
The difference between Baldwin and Rittenhouse is intent. Baldwin did not
aim his weapon or even pull the trigger with the
I picked up a Blu Ray set of the complete Miami Vice a few months ago, but
stalled in my planned re-watch. While the lighting might be a bit basic,
and the scripts not always amazing, the location still looks wonderful. I
guess it made such a difference actually having a series not being shot in
While his record label (Florida-based TK, better known for, among others,
KC & the Sunshine Band) tried to keep him out of the spotlight despite
reaching the top 10 on both the pop and R charts in 1979 with "What You

Rainn WIlson posted on Twitter that he felt that there was a tendency to

I watched the first three episodes of season one the past couple weeks of
travel.
Still great cinematography for the era.
Still great music included.
Misogynistic office roles in the police station (crocket: " can you get me
a coffee, sweetie" )
Tv lighting was still pronounced. My how that
I'm pretty TV is now down to that series, three or four Below Deck
variants, and whatever 90 Day Fiance has metastasized into.

The new brand and focus seems rather more downscale and less curated than
their current schedule... although I suppose one man's "Petticoat Junction"
is another man's "Full House."
Overall, it's not going to have a huge impact on their schedule, since most
of Decades was comedy anyway... but
I was in college when Miami Vice was the hottest show on TV, and I was
never able to get into it.
My college friend Phyllis Stark, who went on to become one of the top
journalists in the world of country music, put it best at the time: "The
problem with Miami Vice is that no matter how early I
I was in high school. A couple guys wanted, badly, to wear Sonny
Crockett-style suits for prom/graduation. So much talk... Nobody ever did.
But boy those photos , decades later, would be epic.

The video game that the show is based on was well received, I figured that
most of the TV audience are fans of the game.
Alternately, there is a population that wants their post-apocalyptic TV,
usually with humans no longer the apex predator.

I disliked Miami Vice but liked Crime Story, which was basically the same
series in different suits. Go figure.
