Professor Winzenburg is an academic, but the paper being cited here is not an academic paper. There is no evidence it was published in any kind of peer-reviewed journal. The paper includes no references or citations of any kind. The description of the methodology used to generate the table is

This is according to a study by Steven Wizenburg, a communications professor.  The THR piece also covers the percentages for the other hour-long late night programs.  Most of them are several percentage points higher than Fallon with the conversation.
