I guess there is some drama that something might happen with Pence and
South Koreans so close. even a handshake could be newsworthy. So maybe it
was good television.
Loved the reaction, though, for Pence refusing to stand for the North

I don’t let my tv watch Fox News, so I don’t know what they were pimping,
but the main news Friday about Pence was that he found himself in th same
space as Kim Jong-un’s sister Kim Yo-jong. Pence managed to not shake her
hand. That alone might not have been a big item, but the read is that Kim
Jon-un’s envoy is doing much better than Trump’s envoy (Pence) at making a
positive international and, even S. Korean, impression. The US message is:
We are still prepared to Nuke N. Korea into smithereens if they take
offensive action against our allies in the south, while the NK message is
being seen as one of brotherhood and unity and (cough) peace.

This kind of sucks, as Kim Jong-un is on of the few people who can
challenge Mike Pence for being the least likable person in the room. I have
read some reports that his sister is not really wowing the mass of South
Koreans as much as media reports suggest, but given the context, even a
little bit of wowing is pretty big news.

I pointed this out to the eight people who follow me on Twitter, but our VP
serves as proof to the world that the US is going backwards. If the North
Korean envoy at the games wanted a private meeting with our US envoy (the
VP), Pence would feel compelled to reject the invite regardless of any
diplomatic or geopolitical consequences... because the envoy is a woman,
and Pence doesn’t believe it is appropriate to take private meetings with
women. We could conceivably miss out on a landmark opportunity to build US
& North Korean relations because one supposedly crazy dictator sent a woman
while we sent a f*cking dinosaur.

So in a sense it does matter that Pence is at the games, inasmuch as he
stands as evidence of our great national shame.

I hope we lose every event. But if the US does win a medal, I hope athletes
kneel while our anthem is played.

They are giving major coverage to Vice President Pence being at the Winter
Olympics. Do their viewers really give a crap about that? I'm wondering
what I am missing. Seems to me they are dumping Pence in Korea because
they've got nothing better for him to do. Or maybe he wanted to go.
