After six seasons as A.D.A. Rafael Barba, Esparza left the show after last
night's episode.

I just hope Esparza's coming back to Broadway to do... anything.

Spoilers for the episode are at

The new A.D.A. on the show will be played by Philip Winchester, reprising
his role as Peter Stone from the short-lived Wolf series "Chicago Justice."
And to tie it back in to the mothership, Peter Stone is, we are told, the
son of Ben Stone, the prosecutor played during the early seasons of L&O by
Michael Moriarty.

One of the subplots on last night's episode - spoiler alert - is that Peter
was in NYC to attend Ben's funeral.

(Moriarty is still alive, though from what I hear he's dead to Dick Wolf.)

During the funeral scene, the eulogy was delivered by Sam Waterston as Ben
Stone's successor, Jack McCoy. It marked Waterston's first time playing the
role since the original L&O went off the air eight years ago.
