Re: [twitter-dev] OAuth token lifetime

 If my app has used OAuth to log on, and can now send tweets, how long
 can I use the token for?  Is it indefinite, or a set amount of time,
 after which I have to repeat the OAuth logon process again?

Hi,

quote from the FAQ:

How long does an access token last?

We do not currently expire access tokens. Your access token will be
invalid if a user explicitly rejects your application from their
settings or if a Twitter admin suspends your application. If your
application is suspended there will be a note on your application page
saying that it has been suspended.

Re: [twitter-dev] lang=en queries to search API not working

2010-11-27 Thread CWorster
I ran into the same problem in june/july. I added the since
parameter to solve the problem.

Example:
http://search.twitter.com/search.atom?lang=enq=thanksgivingsince=2010-11-24

Make sure the since parameter is not more then 5/6 days back in the past.

Cheers

P.S.: On the new API-Documentation
http://dev.twitter.com/doc/get/search this parameter is now named
until but didn't work. Maybe that's an error in the documentation.
See the old API-Doc
http://apiwiki.twitter.com/w/page/22554756/Twitter-Search-API-Method:-search
this parameter is named since.

Re: [twitter-dev] PHP json_decode and snowflake

2010-11-06 Thread CWorster
If you have a sufficient PHP-Version (=5.3
http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.json-decode.php) you can try
this:

$array = json_decode($json, true, 512, JSON_BIGINT_AS_STRING);

I had no luck on Debian/Squeeze, so I'm using for now this quick dirty hack:

$array = json_decode(preg_replace('/(\w+):(\d{6,})/', '${1}:${2}',
$json), true);

[twitter-dev] Extreme caching of deleted tweets in 'statuses/home_timeline'

2010-10-10 Thread CWorster
Hello,

I start noticing this issue 3-4 days ago. The deleted tweets
disappeared after several hours (up to 12 h). Today there's a deleted
status (26830561229) that still show up in 'statuses/home_timeline'
after 22 hours.

'statuses/show' on that Id gives a correct: Not Found: The URI
requested is invalid or the resource requested, such as a user, does
not exists. Also in ''statuses/user_timeline'' the tweets disappear
immediately after deletion.

It seems only 'statuses/home_timeline' does that extreme caching.
Anybody else noticing this?

Thanks

Christian

Re: [twitter-dev] Re: REST API entities enabled by default?

2010-09-20 Thread CWorster
*facepalm* how could I read entities == retweets?

Sorry for that.

2010/9/19 SkyLifeLabs ch...@skylifelabs.com:
 Thanks, you are correct. I should have been more specific: I would
 like the retweets but not the entity data for the 'entities' node
 which I thought was opt-in only using include_entities=true as per
 the API docs (http://dev.twitter.com/doc/get/statuses/user_timeline).
 I have also tried it without include_rts=true (http://
 api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline/TWU556.xml) and still get the
 entities, at least according to a dump with 'curl
 http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline/TWU556.xml'.

Re: [twitter-dev] I have one problem with from_user_id and id

2010-09-19 Thread CWorster
That's a known defect. Quote from API documentation:
http://dev.twitter.com/doc/get/search

Warning: The user ids in the Search API are different from those in
the REST API (about the two APIs). This defect is being tracked by
Issue 214. This means that the to_user_id and from_user_id field vary
from the actualy user id on Twitter.com. Applications will have to
perform a screen name-based lookup with the users/show method to get
the correct user id if necessary.

You're appending include_rts=true, that is the opt-in parameter to
get the retweets inline.

Re: [twitter-dev] Create a favorite

2010-09-05 Thread CWorster
Hi,

change this line:
 $connection-post('favorites/create', array('id' = $qtweet));
into:
$connection-post('favorites/create/'.$qtweet);

  $qtweet = $_REQUEST['fav'];
Make sure that $_REQUEST['fav'] is containing an existing ID. Check your Form:
 input style=width: 346px; name=fav id=fav /textarea
input type=text style=width: 346px; name=fav id=fav
value=?php echo $YOUR_ID; ? /

I would prefer an input type=hidden.

Hope it helps.

Re: [twitter-dev] Re: How to get many user objects without hitting the rate limit?

 Hi all

 I need to get the user information for all the @user_mentions in a
 single timeline every time in load the website I'm building. This will
 need to include the username and profile_image_url at the very least,
 if not some other information associated with the user. If i pull back
 the timeline on the single account and then cycle through all the
 @user_mentions, my rate limit is history. Can anyone suggest a
 workaround to this, other than begging Twitter for Whitelabel status?

 Thank you!
