Support for rel="shortlink" is a big deal, please support it.

Here's why: I own a small company that sells a feedback solution to
companies. We've gone through great lengths to ensure that our URL:s are
readable, and conveys information about where they go. But when people send
that same link through most of today's Twitter clients they get a
random-looking bit.ly/afa7f9a-link back. We can do a better job than that,
so we registered our own short domain, and added shortlink to all our pages.
Now we just need Twitter to start supporting rel="shortlink". Please do.

Advantages:

   1. Makes URL:s readable again. Webmasters that know the content can do a
better job than bit.ly or t.co when determining how to properly shorten an
   URL.
   2. Allows small webmasters to track how much traffic they get from
Twitter, without relying on bit.ly for statistics.

Those two are a BIG DEAL, and I really hope for Twitter to realize that.
