Streaming still supports basic auth, but User Streams and Site Streams
endpoints only support OAuth.

If you are getting 401s, chances are you are violating a connection policy.

I'm seeing plenty of 401s returned from the 
http://stream.twitter.com/statuses/filter
endpoint. This is still supporting basic auth, correct?
