[twitter-dev] Preventing Twitter from interpreting "@" characters

Hello all,

I am trying to post a URL to a Twitter status that has a "@" character  
in it. The problem is probably obvious -- anyone know how to prevent  
Twitter from interpreting the "@" as a username?
