[twsocket] ICS Wiki : author wanted

2009-06-23 Thread Francois PIETTE

Hi !

As you probably know, we have a Wiki for ICS documentation:
http://wiki.overbyte.be
A wiki is a collaborative tool. We already have a few authors writing
articles.

Actually not that much !

If you have some spare time, please use it to write some article in the
wiki. If each ICS user write only a single page, we will have tens of
thousands pages ! No need to know everything. It is enough if you know
ONE thing. Just write a page and you'll enter the hall of fames :-)

To collaborate, just login onto the wiki and email me the usercode you
selected. I will give you write permission.

Thanks a lot.

Re: [twsocket] ICS Wiki on www.overbyte.be

2009-03-27 Thread Fredrik Larsson
Hi,

I personally try to contribute to the wiki whenever I do something
ICS-related. Let's say I do something with the HTTP-component I put an half
an hour or so to document if it's something where there isn't any prior
documentation. Like in your case if you find out to do it in the demos then
give a couple of minutes to document it or even just mention that "look on
srvdemo.dpr" or something is a step in the right direction. It will take a
whole lot of time but it's up to us who use the component to pay back to
those that develop these fine components. And honestly you can add an hour
in consulting time to the customer because you save a whole lot more time
when you get access to these components. But anyway, that's my opinion and I
hope that more users try to give a small effort to the whole...

Regards, Fredrik.

Subject: [twsocket] ICS Wiki on www.overbyte.be

Hello,

I wonder where all those people are which have a login to the ICS wiki
or which expressed their wish to have on e created in the past?

I do not see much action there, but I often enough feel the need for a
better documentation. At least for me not all things are self
explanatory and the demos are nice but for specific questions sometimes
not quite the right place to look for the answer.

Greetings

Markus

[twsocket] ICS wiki

2008-12-06 Thread Francois PIETTE
Hi !

There is a Wiki for ICS : http://wiki.overbyte.be/wiki
As all other wikis, this is a collaborative effort to document ICS. It is a
work in progress.

This message is a call for writers !
If you have some time to document a few items, please do it !
Even if you can only document one method or property of a component, do it !
This is the only way to finally get a complete documentation.

If you are willing to help and do not have yet write access, just write me
an email with the login you have selected.

Thanks.

Re: [twsocket] ICS wiki templates (are there any?)

2007-11-30 Thread Fredrik Larsson
There are some templates but I normally copy the layout from some existing
one that fits what I want to enter. /Fredrik.

Hello:
I noticed that a lot of the components and their
methods/properties wiki pages have basically the same
layout and sections, and I was wondering (before I
endeavor to start from scratch) if there was a
template, or if it's just copy+paste from a previous one?
