Game Day Special Notice:
During the December 2003 Board/Planning meeting, the Board
of TYJP decided to collect dues for the calendar year of 2004 in the amount of
$5.00 per person. TYJP needs these dues to stay solvent and remain
financially independent. We use these funds to pay for the web site, email
list server, and various other expenses we incur during the year. We ask
that you help support TYJP's continued existence by paying your $5.00 dues at
one of the first three events you attend during the year, or send your
check or money order, or pay via PayPal, as directed on our web
site:
http://www.rtpnet.org/tyjp/html/membership.html In order to help facilitate this action, TYJP
will now have a sign in roster at all events.

Happy
Hour: Time:
7:00 PM Where:
Rudino's Rooftop Sports Bar, 8800 Harvest Oaks Drive, Suite 102, Raleigh
Phone: (919) 848-04825
================================================================ Chocolate
Decadence:
When: Tuesday, April 20, 2004 Time: 7:00 - 9:00
PM Where: Lindt Chocolate, Crabtree Valley Mall (lower level, near
Sears), Raleigh
Cost:
$10 Please join your fellow chocolate lovers for an evening of chocolate
tasting that will encompass all the product ranges Lindt offers. While the store
will have to remain open to the public during this event, the Lindt manager and
one other staff member are planning to entertain us/give us their undivided
attention during this time. The evening will consist of a short seminar on the
history of chocolate followed by an "extensive chocolate tasting." Coffee, water
and juice will be available to refresh your palate between tastings. According
to the manager, they are also planning to prepare "generous goody bags" for all
participants at the end of the evening. Please RSVP to [EMAIL PROTECTED] by April 12 so that we have an idea of the expected head count. ================================================================
Board/Planning Meeting:
When: Thursday, April 22, 2004 Time: 6:30 PM Board Meeting / 7:00 PM Planning
Meeting
Where: Josh L.'s House (RSVP
for Directions)
It's that time of the year
again. It is time to plan TYJP events for the next quarter. If you
have any ideas or suggestions for activities or events for the time frame
of May 1 through August 31, 2004, please feel free to come to the planning
meeting. We would love to see some new volunteers and ideas. If you
cannot attend the meeting, but have any ideas, suggestions, or wish to volunteer
for an event, please contact Michael Cohen at [EMAIL PROTECTED].
We will meet at Josh's house for this meeting, to help facilitate easy communication between all those who attend; we have had trouble in the past with people hearing other people in noisy restaurants. The Board will meet at 6:30 PM; the Planning Meeting will start at 7:00 PM. We will order pizzas for those who attend (anyone eating may be asked to pitch in); if you have any preferences for the type of pizza you want, please indicate it in your RSVP. To RSVP and receive directions to his house, please contact Josh at [EMAIL PROTECTED]. ================================================================
WV White Water Rafting
Trip:
When: Friday, May 7 - Sunday, May 9, 2004 Where: New River
or Upper Gauley, West Virginia
Please RSVP to Deb ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) by April 1 so
that she has an idea of the number of interested people, which will
determine what sort of transportation and accommodations are needed. Cost of
rafting x1 day + camping x2 nights, two breakfasts, and a dinner on Saturday
night will run roughly $90 per person not including the cost of renting a
wetsuit (which is highly recommend), which is an additional $20. When you
RSVP, please indicate whether you'd prefer to upgrade to a cabin (i.e.,
something other than a tent). You don't need to have any previous rafting
experience to raft the Spring Gauley or New Rivers but there are some Class V
rapids and you need to be able/willing to paddle with everyone else in your
raft.
