Wednesday, May 17, Miniature Golf

Join TYJP at Funtasia Family Fun Center Wednesday, May 17, 2000 at 7:00
p.m. where there is something for everyone. Perhaps you're having a good
week and would like to engage in a round or two of miniature
golf. Funtasia features two 18 hole miniature golf courses, recently
renovated. Or, perhaps you're feeling some road rage? Take out your
frustrations on the NASCAR Go-Cart track where screaming at other drivers
is expected. Is the boss getting you down at work? You can smack them
into tomorrow at the batting cages (feel free to draw their face on the
baseballs for added effect).

Adventure Landing is located at 4350 Garrett Road in Durham. Phone
number: 493-8973.

>From points west:
Take 1-40 East to 15-501. Exit and turn left to cross back over the
freeway (you'll be heading away from Chapel Hill). Drive about 3 miles
and Garrett Road will be on your right. There is a Darryl's Restaurant on
the right and Chilis Restaurant on the left. Turn right onto Garrett
Road. Adventure Landing is a few blocks up on the right, directly across
from a driving range.

2. Sunday, May 21, One Time TYJP Volunteer Opportunity - State Maccabiah
Games (2:00- 5:00 PM or part thereof)

To volunteer, contact Sharon Metzler from TYJP at 844-9663 or e-mail
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (e-mail no later than Friday).

The Raleigh / Cary Jewish Federation has sponsored a day of youth
competition, olympic style, or over five years. This year's Maccabiah
Games at the JCC in North Raleigh on Sunday May 21 hopes to be the largest
of games. TYJP's and other community members' help is needed to assist
with the running of the games.

As a group we will team up to assist in running individual
competitions. If you can give as little as an hour, your time will be
greatly valued. The jobs will be easy, including starting, timing, and
judging races. In the non-competitive area, help is needed in working with
pre-schooler games. The games run from 2:00-5:00 PM and include swimming,
athletics and team sports for the state's Jewish youth. Help will also be
needed in setting up. This is a one time volunteer opportunity and a great
opportunity to participate in a community wide event.

After, please join the community in Yom Hatzmaut- Israel's Independence
Day celebrations, Sunday May 21st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jewish
Community Center, 12804 Norwood Road. Come out and celebrate! There will
be music and dancing with great Israeli and American foods.
