[U-Boot] Netconsole hangs

Hello, I would like to use netconsole instead of serial console. It works fine if the Ethernet cable is plugged in the device. The problem is that it hangs forever if the cable is unplugged, which can generally happen. Is this a normal behavior or a bug? Any workaround? (u-boot 2016.01, vf610t
