I'll just add a small footnote to that one...
We version stamp every program, by insering a block that reads e.g :
ADGVERDATA=''
ADGVERDATA := 'Version=004003054;'
ADGVERDATA := 'VerDate=13394;'
ADGVERDATA := 'VerProd=MVQUERY;'
ADGVERDATA := 'VerTM=MMT mvQuery;'

Hi all,
A colleague has asked the following question - anyone know?
Will Unidata 5.2 run on AIX 4.2.1? If it won't, what version of AIX will
it run on?
Thanks in advance...

Hi all,
A colleague has asked
Or you could use a product such as PRC to take care of sandboxing (personal
copies) and versioning and backups and tracing history and all of that sort
of thing. All while automating the whole life-cycle, bringing
best-practices and compliance to the party.
Oops ... did I say that out loud?
Not according to IBM's product availability chart. It says 5.2.0 and
higher require at least 4.3.2

Kyocera will have no problem making these kinds of print jobs, and you save
the hassle of
pcl, instead you can do it all in prescribe which is an excellent control
language for kyocera printers, besides they have a very low consumption of
spare parts :-)

Look into enscript and ghostscript. Enscript will take text and output
postscript, ghostscript will take the postscript and output pdf. Have used
these products to convert HOLD items to pdf on UV running on W2K.

Take a look at Cyqwin:
http://www.cygwin.com
It's an open source Linux-like environment for Windows.
With 'enscript' and the ghostscript tool 'ps2pdf', you can create command
line scripts to generate PDF files from plain text.

I do, but just for development. I've never done it under a real user load.

Check out www.pdf995.com
Using this, the pdf file can be created from any application (word, notepad,
wordpad or any other text editor) by simply selecting the Print Command.

All,
The Shows (two days in Sydney and a day in Melbourne) were well
received. Gus and Monica put on a winner. IBM sent a number of people,
including LeRoy Dreyfuss, who is the product manager responsible for U2
(under Jackie Burhans). If you have any questions about the show, feel

Take a look at GhostScript. It's a pretty comprehensive method of dealing with
postscript stuff that just happens to include the abiltiy to produce pdf documents
with a command line interface. We've been using it on an hp-ux machine for a long
time now. I also have it running on an XP
I have been running it, Universe on XP, for 6 months. Just a
test/development environment, but it runs. I do not have the ability to
provide any speed comparisons because it is not in production.

If you need to convert from PCL formatted documents (those already
formatted for HP laserjets) then visual software pcl2pdf32 is a great
product. Includes pcl2pdf32.exe command line interface.

However because so much has been invested in edi to date and its fully
