Hello all!
I'm new to the group and am trying my hand at UniBasic to develop custom
routines.
My current issue is probably an easy one.
When I issue the FIB command in AE, or the BASIC command in ECL, it
tells me that BASIC is not a verb.
I'm sure that I'm missing something simple!
Are you in lower case? That's usually my problem when I get that message.
:)

Jim,
As a security feature a lot of VARS remove that command (verb) from the VOC.
Or perhaps they have a utility that they want you to use instead?
So first check with your VAR before changing your VOC.

The important part here is knowing when to use it properly.
Even a hand crank record player can be used properly.

The-command-that-must-not-be-named is like a fine cigar. You know you
shouldn't. You know it's bad for you. Nonetheless, it's satisfying when
done right.
If the use of GOTO is not proper in UniBasic, why does the language include
the verb?
I have plenty of electric power sockets in my house.
Is Matt still doing training? His web site home page doesn't mention
PICK, MultiValue, training or anything except security.
Unfortunately, the rest of his links are broken.
If someone knows or finds out for sure, how about reporting back to

This is the way it was explained to me way back in '88. The internal select
is slower on the whole file, but immediate in response. It works the same
as LIST. If I list a file with 2,000,000 records I get immediate response.
If I want to process an entire file, then external select is slower
But... using an external select then reading in the records means grabbing
the records from disk or cache twice.
Like most things, it's a judgement call. Are you going to select the entire
file and evaluate each record in basic? No brainer; use an internal select.

It's very easy to create/parse XML with .NET technologies. If you have a
