Mac, If the goal is to Java program with mv data, you don't need to leave UniVerse. There are documented Java-accessible UniVerse connectors where you can keep the data in UniVerse and still do the bulk of the coding in Java. Look at UOJ (UniVerse Objects For Java) for a start. - Chuc
