Thanks for your advice. Due to the settings of our system, when I ran my
UniObject Codes, I have to force the codes to use another language setting:
ISO-8859-1. Then @VM and @FM works.

This is a followup to an earlier online conversation.
With some help from a local expert, I now have a Universe Personal Edition
running on a Windows platform. I find that it DOES have the flexibility I
needed.

The kernel is not part of UniVerse or UniData but it can impact how it works
if you do not tune it to support both the database(UniVerse/UniData) and the
software you are running on it.
