Hi,
* How do I do a wild card with angle brackets?
SELECT FILE WITH NAME = ENTER NAME
not sure how to get it to do a wild card select?
* How do I check a SELECT ?
I tried the REQUIRE.SELECT which works...
But if it doesn't find anything it just continues on to the next line...
Thanks everybody for the quick response!
I found it interesting that what I could do in Universe didn't always work in
Unidata paragraphs...
I'll go try your suggestions.
Thanks again,
Ralph

I was informed that lower case list and select work in Unidata flavor if
your are in a Pick flavor which helps too. thanks

Bob,
IMHO, even for a Universe programmer, there'd still be a slight learning
curve using the screen builder. The dictionary/file formats are almost
identical too. AREV was/is a wonderful product.
I'm hoping Revelation as they now have offered a character mode with Open
Insight
Hi Bob,
As a side note, OI is going to be able to run AREV apps, directly, and
allow you to slowly modify the UI, piece by piece. In my opinion, it's
long over due, but I'm excited they are coming out with this capability.
Me too!

those latecomers.

EXECUTE COUNT FILENAME

A recent thread debated the speed of these 2 SELECT methods.
My question is what would be the preferred way to insure that all records may
be counted for on an active system instead of a dormant system.
Thanks in advance.

What are you using?
Does it work well?
Would you use it today if you doing development or consider something else?
Thanks,
Ralph
P.S. Thanks for the Training responses too.

Hi George,
I often wonder while watching Home and Gardens how people in California afford
the houses that are 600,000 plus on a salary of 70-80.
It's simple really, you get 5 U2 , 2 Pick, 1 jBase and 1 Revelation
programmers to move in together and share the expenses. ;-)

The notebook line works, but the excel line flashes something fast and
returns me
to Accuterm. Weird huh? I went to my PC and used RUN command Excel
f:\ralph.csv and that worked... here's the code:
STX=CHAR(2); ESC=CHAR(27); CR=CHAR(13)
PRINT
stuff.
