Can't you just take the Julian date and divide by 7? If you need to
adjust the first week so it starts on another day, find out what day of
the week January 1st is on, subtract that from the Julian date then
divide by 7.
I don't know if this fits your needs but it seems straight forward to
me.
How about this for an idea... If you make a phantom program that
watches either a file or a directory for an entry with a PID value then
the phantom can issue a LOGOUT pid# then deletes the entry. I'm not
sure this will work but it's a thought. Then all you have to do is
manually make the entry
I don't get it. I thought you were looking for a method to not have to
install software on the outside user's computer. Do these software
suggestions install on the server there by allowing the outside user to
only have to have a web browser, i.e.: Internet Explorer, on their
computer?

I use this method quite frequently. One of the things I just did was
something like that:
DL.TOP = CLINE - INT(WDEPTH/2)
DL.BOT = CLINE + INT(WDEPTH/2) + (REM(WDEPTH/2) NE 0)
The last part is going to give me either a 0 or a 1 depending on the odd
or even value of WDEPTH. I now have which lines
Thanks, Mark, but changing term emulator software is not an option. This
needs to work in Dynamic Connect.

I wasn't implying I was looking for a gui tool. Maybe I phrased it
wrong. What I'm trying to accomplish is a green screen solution where

How about a bad data record? If I was the one running this, I'd be
putting in a number of DISPLAY statements at key points, like a before
and after message on statements like WRITEs or CALLs. Probably on
READs, too, ensuring you show the record key in the before message.
Then let it rip! If you
Hi Martin,
Unfortunately, Dynamic Connect is our only option. I've received three
workable solutions that I'm looking at. This list is a gold mine!
Thanks,

Is it possible that you have a trigger on the file? Triggers don't do
well with the debugger.

retype the whole things. Estimated size could be something as high as
1,000 characters. I'd love bells and whistles, too, but something
straight forward would be greatly appreciated.
This is a Universe 10.1.18 on Win2K3 environment using Dynamic Connect.

Can't you take the max value length and use that to format your
calculated time, zero filling, then take the left most 10 characters and
multiply that by 1? Like Kevin said, it really depends on what you're
ultimately looking for.

Hi folks,
I'm trying to set up a general use utility and what I'd like to do is to
be able to call this utility, passing it an open file handle, a couple
other parameters plus one that could be used to specify a dict entry
name, not a field number. The catch is I'd like to use the dict entry
Thanks everyone. Though my documentation doesn't mention the
UNIVERSE.INCLUDE, it is the correct entry, which is pointing to
...\uv\INCLUDE and ...\uv\D_INCLUDE. In case it matters, UV is running
on a WIN 2k3 server.
Thanks, again.

When all else fails, we remote into the server console, pull up the
windows task manager and kill the process tree for those sessions. Then
we return to Universe, do a LO userid then an UNLOCK USER userid ALL.
We're on UV 10.1.18, Win 2k3, but this worked on 10.1.11, too.
