RE: [U2] sql date/time conversion
May not be the most elegant solution to be suggested, but perhaps use an I-type to oconv your date and time fields and present them as a single -MM-DD HH:MM:SS string? OT - sure will be nice when sql server 2005 FINALLY supports separate date and time data types. Took 'em long enough to catch up to us grin. We send PCL codes to our HP printers. I've Googled til I'm blue in the face and have yet to find a concise list of PCL codes. I think the PCL codes must have changed because nothing I send to this printer (raw driver over Linux) is working. no font changes, pitch changes... TIA -- Karl L. RE: [U2] RE: gvim on UD
This may not apply, but my recollection is that unless you specify a binary transfer type when ftp'ing your ftp client and server should properly negotiate the CRLF to LF (and vice versa) swaps. If you're specifying binary, this conversion does not take place which would leave you with the extraneous CR's in your file. On a windows box somewhere, or on UNIX? If running on windows, but accessing a unix file, then you may find that gvim has decided to put in a CRLF instead of just a linefeed at the end of each line. gvim is infinitely configurable, and I'm sure there'll be a way to make it behave the way you need it to. I don't believe you can use a dynamic array to store file variables/handles. I believe they must be elements of a dimensioned array or an individual variable. RE: [U2] [UV] WHILE READNEXT id DO
And ol' Arev has this feature as a query option: LIST FILE BY THIS BY THAT BREAK-ON THIS TOTAL SOMETHING (X) With the option X, you are prompted for a file name and record id, and the source code is written there. Sort of funky-looking, though... Don't know if they carried it over into OpenInsight. RE: [U2] Reading Excel worksheets natively from within Universe
I've used the documentation at openoffice.org (search there for excel file format) to help write code to read/write Excel directly from Arev applications (old version without all the fancy new stuff in OpenInsight), and this would be equally possible from UV. But it's a brute-force approach and I'd only recommend it after all other options are exhausted.
