Re: [U2] U2 DataVu Query

2010-12-07 Thread Bruce McAdoo
Thanks for the response, Michael. The VOC entry for UD.ACCOUNT, in the data
account chosen in the connection setup, is being overwritten. Prior to making
the connection the VOC entry for UD.ACCOUNT is as follows:

001: F
002: c:\program files\ibm\ud71\sys\UD.ACCOUNT
003: c:\program files\ibm\ud71\sys\D_UD.ACCOUNT

After selecting the the data account the VOC entry for UD.ACCOUNT is changed to:

001: F
002: ..\sys\UD.ACCOUNT
003: ..\sys\D_UD.ACCOUNT

(the path for the data account is e:\data account name)

I think U2 DataVu Query should not be overwriting the path to UD.ACCOUNT in the
data account. Comments would be appreciated.

You need to use CONVERT.SQL on UniData files (not for UniVerse files) for them
to be visible. You may also need to GRANT privileges for specific users
depending on what username will be connecting. There is a small mention of
this in the readme that comes with the download. The following would make it
available to all users.

CONVERT.SQL MYFILE PUBLIC

You are missing a file in the sys account called UD.ACCOUNT. There is a
tech note for BDT on that problem.

Re: [U2] U2 DataVu Query

2010-11-19 Thread Bruce McAdoo
Thanks Doug, but actually the file UD.ACCOUNT in the sys account exists and is
not missing. The VOC entry of UD.ACCOUNT in the account I'm trying to query
(with U2 DataVu Query) seems to be changing after trying to display files via
the Create New U2 Query.

The VOC entry prior to trying to display files via the Create New U2 Query:
001: F
002: c:\program files\ibm\ud71\sys\UD.ACCOUNT
003: c:\program files\ibm\ud71\sys\D_UD.ACCOUNT

The VOC entry after trying to display files via the Create New U2 Query:
001: F
002: ..\sys\UD.ACCOUNT
003: ..\sys\D_UD.ACCOUNT

The account I'm trying to query is actually on an alternate drive (e:\).

Does anyone know if this is the problem, or a solution to resolve tis problem?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Re: [U2] U2 DataVu Query

2010-11-19 Thread David Jordan
You need to populate that UD.ACCOUNT with a record for that UD.ACCOUNT. You
can either manually create it or use UniAdmin to update an already created
account. You may also need to fill in the description field.
