I have just installed the personal edition and can not find what the
initial login/password is. I have searched the docs but must have
missed it

dont know about SQL Server but its easy to extract universe data with
MSQuery after setting up a dsn and an odbc account.
You can store the queries and use them in excel or word etc
Even multivalues are not a problem.
It can be a bit slow though.

It's whatever your OS (win/linux) login is. eg administrator / *pass* , root
/ *pass*
