Re: [Ubuntu] GDAL 1.7.3
I'll note an easy way to test porting a package back one version of Ubuntu is to use the Prevu tool. Here's a rough guide https://wiki.kubuntu.org/Prevu Thanks, Alex On 11/26/2010 12:17 PM, Alan Boudreault wrote: > FYI, I've uploaded gdal 1.7.3 for Lucid in the PPA. Re: [Ubuntu] GDAL 1.7.3
FYI, I've uploaded gdal 1.7.3 for Lucid in the PPA. If you want to rebuild it for karmic, you can download it here: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntugis/+archive/ubuntugis-unstable/+packages and you can check what are the needed changes for karmic here: http://trac.osgeo.org/ubuntugis/browser/packages/gdal/karmic/trunk/debian/changelog especially the following section: gdal (1.7.2-4~karmic1) karmic; urgency=low regards, Alan On November 26, 2010 09:17:28 am Alan Boudreault wrote: > Tom, > > non-LTS releases are only supported for 1 year after they are released. Re: [Ubuntu] GDAL 1.7.3
Tom, non-LTS releases are only supported for 1 year after they are released. We highly recommend to only use LTS releases for your servers. Re: [Ubuntu] GDAL 1.7.3
Hi Alan, Thanks for your reply. How come Karmic isn't supported any more? I was hoping to put off upgrading my processing server to 10.04 untill the New Year, but there are fixes in GDAL 1.7.3 from bugs that I've submitted. I guess I can try using the karmic package untill then. Thanks, Tom On 26 November 2010 13:48, Alan Boudreault wrote: > Hi Tom, > > Yes, packaging 1.7.3 is on my list. Hi Tom, Yes, packaging 1.7.3 is on my list. However, Karmic is no longer supported, so I wont build the package for it. Once the package for Lucid will be made.. it should very easy to rebuild it on your karmic machine without (or a few) modifications (IIRC). thanks, Alan On November 26, 2010 08:38:52 am Tom Holderness wrote: > Hi, > > I was just wondering if there are any plans to build GDAL 1.7.3 soon > (specifically for Karmic in my case), If someone tells me what's involved, > I'd be happy to join the team and try building myself. > > Many thanks, > > Tom -- Alan Boudreault Mapgears http://www.mapgears.com ___ UbuntuGIS mailing list Ubuntu@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu http://trac.osgeo.org/ubuntugis/wiki
[Ubuntu] GDAL 1.7.3
Hi, I was just wondering if there are any plans to build GDAL 1.7.3 soon (specifically for Karmic in my case), If someone tells me what's involved, I'd be happy to join the team and try building myself. Many thanks, Tom ___ UbuntuGIS mailing list Ubuntu@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu http://trac.osgeo.org/ubuntugis/wiki
